My family and I are going to attempt camping at Peninsula State Park in Door county in August. Does anyone know of any good restaurants to attempt while we are there? We will do alot of cooking on our own, but I'm sure there will be a rainy day that we want to get out of the campground and get a meal. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Oh, my sons are 3 and 6, so child-friendly is a must!

I used to live in Sturgeon Bay in Door County. I can give you a great link to access and puruse Door County accomodations. Open Original Shared Link

I really like the Neighborhood Bar and Grill and I have an 8 1/2 daughter. There are sooo many nice restraunts. I always remember where they are but not the names. We lived there for about 2 years. The chefs/cooks there are super people friendly. Everywhere is pretty much kid friendly. It is supposed to be a family get a way place. Enjoy your stay and check out the link!

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
