Recently diagnosed, having a hard time figuring this out, and I don't know anyone in my life with celiac disease. I have searched the "Facebook groups" to find someone at Texas Tech to help me and it looks like I'm the only one. I will be in Austin, TX for the next week then moving back to Lubbock, I want to find someone to email or call and even go grocery shopping with once or twice. Just someone to tell me what is okay when I need an immediate answer.

If you live in Lubbock or Austin, please email me at [EDIT] ajarrott@gmail.com - I have made this email address to devote to corresponding with Gluten Free friends. [End Edit]

If not and you want to help I have text messaging on my phone, and I use my email all day, so if you just want to be able to answer questions I may have you can also email me there. I also have AIM, my screen name is 'thatchickali'. Im logged on all the time when my computer is on. I know I'm rambling, I'm sure you get the point.

Hi Ali,

I agree with Momma Goose. If there's anything we can help you with, don't hesitate to ask.

I merged your two threads together to avoid confuson :)

There is a support/information group in Austin called Alamo Celiac. Their website is AlamoCeliac.org.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
