Hi ya'll

I am starting a Medical Transcription class on-line this week, well actually orintation is this week after that I will start. I was wondering is anyone or do ya'll know of anyone who is a medical transcriptist, I know that it is too late now on asking. If you do, Do you enjoy this and does it make pretty good money. I am basically looking for something that I can do at home or in office to make extra money inbetween my hours at the hospital that I do 3, 12 hour shifts so I have plenty of time to do something extra, I don't want to get a second job with differant hours. I want to be able to work when I need too.

any thoughts

donna

Hi Donna, I do medical transcription and letter dictation but as part of my job. I work in a clinic with a couple of doctors and counselors. I do dictation for both. I like the dictation part, but with phones, clients and everything else in an office it is hard to concentrate on doing that job and not have distractions. I have thought about doing this kind of work outside of work at home but everytime I think I want to try I work more hours. So I haven't pursued it. I wish you luck. Some people like it or they don't. I hope it works for you.

Thank you Lisa, I hope that it works for me too. My main goal is to work at home making extra cash, eventually staying at home so I won't have to worry about after school care and babysitter if we have another baby.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
