It's Sugar Cookie Time!

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you're having a good holiday season, and that it's not too stressful. I'm having a MAJOR craving for sugar cookies, but I just realized that I don't know if there's any gluten free sugar cookie sprinkles. Anyone have any recommendations?

Also, I have old christmas cookie cutters that are made of plastic - I used to use them before I was gluten free. Is there anything I can do to save them from the gluten, or should I just not risk it? I think if they were metal I wouldn't be so nervous about it, but I feel like the plastic is risky. What do you think?

Thanks all!

Yes, there are. We have several Betty Crocker brand sprinkles. I don't have the exact names, but Betty Crocker will list all gluten clearly in the ingredients, so if there is no WBRO listed, it is safe for consumption.

I too have used Betty Crocker and Mccormick without any problems. Have fun making cookies

I have this little cage thing that goes in the dishwasher, for baby bottles and sippy cup parts. I put my cookie cutters in it and ran them through the dishwasher 3 or 4 times (with full loads, of course :P ).

I actually trust my plastic ones even more than the metal ones. The plastic ones are a solid piece, whereas the metal ones have a seam.

Ooh - thanks everyone! I'll get to the cookie making - I can't wait!

(and good idea about the dishwasher Sarah - if only I had one... :) the dear BF will have a fun job this weekend - but he'll get cookies as a reward, I'd say that's fair)

Congrats! Can you share the recipe? We just picked up a bread maker from an estate sale and are experimenting.
