Kettle Chips

Just need to start out by saying that I LOVE Kettle Chips!

Anyway, I live in Europe, where my local supermarket stocks Kettle Chips - but only in the Balsamic Vinegar and the Sea Salt flavors. I've noticed that the labels clearly state GLUTEN FREE.

I'm back in the U.S. right now for the holidays and headed out to Whole Foods last night and fell upon the potato chips section with about a zillion different flavors of Kettle Chips! Unfortunately, none of the bags have the "gluten-free" label on them! I went to their website and it says that the chips are made in a facility that also handles wheat...anyone have any nasty reactions? I just bought the Yogurt & Green Onion flavor and I'm hoping to be able to eat it...

On another note, I was meeting up with a friend in Paris and found myself near another supermarket that has an even bigger stock of Kettle Chips than my local supermarket....that is, they have many more flavors besides the Balsamic Vinegar and the Sea Salt (Black Pepper, Tomato Salsa, Cheese & Onion, etc) and noticed that while all of the bags are labeled "gluten-free", (and some of them are listed "Safe for Coeliacs") some of the ingredients listed include "wheat starch"! I was going to buy a couple of the other flavors to try them out, but hesitated when I saw the wheat starch listing. Don't know if anyone (from the UK, maybe?) has tried any of these other flavors and had any problems?

I am not from the UK, so I can't help you there, but I can tell you that the Salt & Pepper ones glutened us, big time! It was a nasty glutening. The ingredients read clean, so it must have been a "shared line" type of contamination or something. We are very, very sensitive to even the tiniest amounts.

I am in the US too, and I eat two brands of Kettle Chips, both marked gluten free. I am not sure how the other brands are.

Hmmm. That's kind of a bummer....I wonder why the Kettle Chips in Europe are marked as gluten free, but the US ones aren't??

Oh, well. I decided it was too risky to eat the yogurt and green onion chips, so I gave them to my husband instead (who loved them). :(

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
