For all who live near Amherst Mass. I just found a cafe call THe River Shark Cafe. They have gluten free pizza! It was ok ( I make better). But, being able to go out with my son and boyfriend for pizza was priceless! They also have gluten free pasta as well. For breakfast, you can get a breakfast pizza or gluten free waffles!

Take 116 towards Hadley mass. Take a left at light at Meadow st. Take a left at 2nd light. Road goes straight or veers to rt. Veer to rt. On left side in little shopping complex. Next to Cumberland Farms.

For those of you in other parts of Mass or Vermont or CT. , Amherst is in Western Mass near Northampton and Hadley.

Thanks! I'm going to have to check that out! We make pretty good pizza ourselves, but there's something about being able to stop for a slice that makes it that much better.

wow that's amazing. I'm going to have to check it out. I'm not celiac, but gluten intolerant. I have a blog started called glutenfreevalley.blogspot.com with zero entries. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in doing it as a group blog (very easy to set up). I have bad rsi (repetitive strain injury) so typing is painful. Carrie

Awesome! I will be traveling through Amherst this summer and need to check it out! Thanks for the info!

Hi Loraleena,

We would be co-contributors to a blog. You would do it all online. It would be very informal. You can write about being gluten-free in the valley, reviews etc. I was hoping to make it a sort of resource for folks in the valley with celiac and gluten intolerance. Really, though, I'm open to anything. I just noticed quite a few western mass folks on the gluten-free boards, and I know there are a bunch in the valley.

I also take Paracetamol. I haven't taken an NSAID in years since being diagnosed with UC. The can cause UC flares.

Welcome to the forum, @jessysgems! How does this affect you? What do you do to address it. Do you have to get up and consume something sweet?

She used to take supplements, but her abdominal pain is so debilitating that she hasn't been able to continue.  Her primary care team has been suggesting liquid supplements rather than pill form to help.  They just drew a lot of blood Friday and we are slowly getting all that work back.  I will definitely check into thiamine!  Thanks!

They have not done that yet.   We are looking at some other treatments to help. And you are correct.  The tickborne illness has been a wild ride.  Our whole family has been battling different tickborne illnesses.  Its expensive and exhausting.
