Itching From Shampoo With Barley?

Has anyone ever become itchy after using a shampoo with wheat or barley in it?

I have not been officially diagnosed as having celiac disease, but my endocrinologist suspects I do have it based on my history.

In the past I'd used my husbands shampoo and I remember getting itchy in my arm pits later in the day after shaving with it (yes, I use shampoo to shave with) in the morning. I'd stopped using it a year or more ago because I figured something in it gave me an allergic reaction. Now since I face the possibility of having celiac disease, I read the ingredients and it contains barley! I tried it again... this morning I shaved with it and now, this evening my legs and tops of my feet are itchy. There is no rash (even when it bothered my arm pits, there was no rash). Has anyone had this reaction?

Thanks!

Lisa

Before going gluten-free the skin on my scalp itched all the

time, no rash, just itched. After going gluten-free I read all the labels

and my shampoo (Nexxus) contained wheat. I stopped using

it and switched to Garnier Fructis and now no more itch.

I used a hair gel that contained wheat. It made my head itch constantly. I stopped using it and the itch cleared up about a month later.

I get a rash and itchy scalp, too, when I use Aussie shampoo (wheat clearly labled on the back).

Especially being glutenfree I am more sensitive. When I am at shows and someone spills their beer on me (and I can't go to the washroom) I get a rash on my skin, blech!

Yep. My conditioner had wheat protein in it, and my scalp itched horribly when I used it.

This doesn't answer your question but I'm not sure if you know that this intolerance is passed down from mother to child through Cord blood and or breast milk.

I’m having this type of MRI this afternoon,  What specifically do you want to know?  From what I’ve read, not all facilities use the same drink prep.

Hi I've been told I need a MRI on my bowels , I was booked for a colonoscopy, but because of my sever back issues and trapped nerve it can't be done , the nurse told me I will have to have a manitol drink a hour before the scan , I'm just a bit worried has I have issues with sweeteners like even a little,  I get a weird throat and ears and I've read it is a similar substance , not sure if anyone has had one of these scans or could give me some advise on the drink prep thanks in advance 😄

Hi all ! Can a celiac attack be so intense that it causes your entire body to work in reverse? Meaning really bad pain,  neuropathy and muscle,  jaw pain,  the stomach issues , Horrible anxiety and confusion??  I had a Tums and you would think I ate poison. My jaw and stomach did not like it . Not the norm for me. Things that are simple are just out of control. Anyone ever have this happen??  I'm trying to figure out what I ate or did to bring on a celiac like attack. I had an idea before but yesterday I didn't have any gluten unless it was in a medication ?! Any positive suggestions ??  Thank you
