I have a question....I am a cake decorator and would like to provide Gluten-Free cakes for those who need them for special occasions. I know that I need sperate stuff for the gluten-free cakes. But do I have to purchase a new oven? One only to be used for gluten-free cakes?

No, you don't need a separate oven. The food doesn't tough the walls of the oven itself. If you use a bread machine, or something that the food touches the sides of, then you might want to get a new one.

Don't forget your pans...mine had to be replaced because they had all that good browning from being used for years and years. Oh well, after 22 years of marriage it was probably a good time to get new stuff anyway.

I understand that I will need to get new pans. I also will mark them gluten-free, just in case I somehow mix up things. But thanks for the reminder

      Thank you all so much for your advice and thoughts. We ended up having another scope and more bloodwork last week. All serological markers continue to increase, and the doc who did the scope said there villous atrophy visible on the scope — but we just got the biopsy pathology report back, and all it says is, “Duodenal mucosa with patchy increased int...

      Thanks for this Russ, and good to see that it is fortified. I spend too much time looking for M&S gluten-free Iced Spiced Buns to have ever noticed this! That's interesting, Scott. Have manufacturers ever said why that should be the case?

      Sainsbury's Free From White Sliced Bread - Now Egg Free - Completely Ruined It

      In the USA only wheat-based breads are fortified with certain vitamins, but not gluten-free breads, thus we typically encourage celiacs to take multivitamin supplements.

All serological markers continue to increase, and the doc who did the scope said there villous atrophy visible on the scope — but we just got the biopsy pathology report back, and all it says is, “Duodenal mucosa with patchy increased intraepithelial lymphocytes, preserved villous architecture, and patchy foveolar metaplasia,” which we are told is still inconclusive…  We will have her go gluten free again anyway, but how soon would you all test again, if at all? How valuable is an official dx in a situation like this?
