I Think The Diet Is Working

Jackson, 2, has only been gluten free for 1 1/2 weeks but I am already seeing differences in him. He is no longer eating huge portions of food, he is not as irritable and easily upset and he hasn't had to have anything for almost a week to help him poop (he has been on something since he was 2 weeks old to help him). I am having fun making bento lunches for him and he is really liking them too. Just wanted to let you all know!

That is really great! I noticed a difference within days of starting the diet with my 6 yr old. We are still working on it and some days are better than others, but it's amazing the difference! Congrats!

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
