Hi Chrissy,

Here is a thread with several recipes. My recipe for soft, rolled sugar cookies is on post #2 :D

There's a recipe on the Pamela's website that actually uses the bread mix-without the yeast-it is the easiest, yummiest sugar cookie. It really rolls out like a dream, not sticky at all.

I use Patti's recipe and love it! In fact, I'll be making some pumpkin and bat cut-outs tonight for the school party on Friday. :D

Here is an easy frosting recipe:

2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup (half a stick) butter softened

1/2 tsp vanilla

2-3 Tbsp milk

Mix together until smooth and add any food colors that you like.

I just made sugar cookies the other day, I like jerseyangel's recipe also from the thread she posted. And they're great with this frosting!

Open Original Shared Link to a great TNT recipe - with pictures. :) . I have been making it for years, and have served it to lots of gluten eaters with rave reviews.

This was a timely subject for me. i have been on the prowl for a sugar cookie recipie, and today find a bonanza of them.

Thanks to the originater of this thread and to those who responded. i prolly don't have to tell you how satisfying it is to find something more that can be added on the plus side to that beginners list of what has had to be eliminated.

Now, does anyone know of/use a shortning substitute that is both soyfree and dairy free?

i am an old lady who now has to relearn eating and cooking.

Thank you all SOOO much.

This is a little late, but maybe will help someone. I've used this recipe for Christmas and plain sugar cookies for years, and the whole family likes them celiac disease or not.

Not sure if it is any good but when I was at Wegmans the other day I saw a gluten-free sugar cookie mix....if you want simple this would be it. I could take note of the brand next time I am there.

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
