Emergency Kit

I know this is a strange question, but my husband ran into his ex at the store and it got me to thinking. She was getting an emergency kit ready kind like people did for Y2K. She and her husband work for the military and she is getting it for when Obama becomes president, now maybe she is parinoid or maybe she knows something we don't all that aside. My question is having ceialc disease what do we need to put in an emergency kit and where would we get it.

Just remember to keep an eye on the expiration dates.

I will add my two cents to your question...... I believe for whatever reason that everyone needs a storage plan long term. Look at it like a food survival ins. plan. We all have health ins, car ins, life ins ( to leave for someone else!) why not a food plan. We all like to eat & there is nothing worse than being hungry. And we can use what we buy anytime we wish. It isn't like car ins or health ins - paying for something we may never use if we are lucky.

I remember the truckers strike years ago. No food on the shelf because everyone panicked & the wealthy purchased everything. I say buy when things are on sale or in bulk but don't take everything from the store shelf. I think we are in times where it may be survival of the well-thought out plan. We are living in uncertain times whether it be weather related, war, or the economy.

Jobs may go down the tube as many have already lost jobs. And if the economy goes farther down the tube the money you are saving is worthless so mmy thought is buy something you can use for long term ........in the event some crisis......

Ice storms & snow storms can cripple a region for weeks or even months. Be Prepared to weather the storm.

Nothing worse than crying hungry children as well.......

I was in the Northridge earthquake. I had an emergency kit and I was glad of it. We were supposed to stay off the roads because all the stoplights were out. We weren't supposed to drink the water and the gas and electric was off. We cooked on a camp stove on the porch. There were people sleeping in tents with no food and water. After awhile they came around with trucks of water, but I was glad that I had been neurotic enough to have an emergency kit. With celiac it is obviously a lot more important.

We have one we keep in our wine room/cellar (obviously we need more wine  ). I went to Costco and bought 2 cases of the big bottles of water, a case of the organic milk in individual cartons that don't need refrigeration so the kids can have milk (they didn't have milk powder there...) applesauce, pudding cups, rice crackers, LARA bars, Mrs. May's bars, pirates booty, soup, fruit cups, tuna fish, canned chicken, children's and adults motrin and vitamins, PB that doesn't require refrigeration (for emergency use only ;) )etc... Other than the peanut butter, I bought stuff that we would normally incorporate into lunches, snacks, etc... so that I can rotate it into the pantry and nothing goes to waste. There's no use in buying a bunch of stuff that no one will eat!! Then when I need to replenish something, I do.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
