Anyone Else With Celiac And Ee?

Ever since I went gluten free I have been experiencing symptoms of EE. If I don't chew my food enough, larger pieces seem to get stuck at the back of my throat. It happens on random days and I'm trying to link it to something I'm eating maybe (heard food allergies can trigger it). Bananas are the only thing I can think of that I ate on those problematic days, but, bananas? too weird.

Anyone else going through this? not only do I now have to pick out gluten, but I now have to focus on soft foods just to keep it down!

Yes. My daughter was diagnosed with EE on December 17th after for suffering months.

She went for allergy testing and nothing showed up. If you can find part of the allergic reaction that triggers this you are so extremely lucky! You will have some control over the problem. I have been doing a food journal to try and track down anything that could be the trigger for her. She is weaning off of the steroid and the sporadic vomitting is coming back. Some nights she can't sleep at all because of the pain.

Popsicles and Slurpees really help. Another adult with EE suggested freezing small pieces of fruit to help with the discomfort too.

Mine got better after changing toothpaste to natural salt toothpaste.

I did not manage to get a diagnosis, but I was scoped an biopsied for ee.

I suspect milk and traces of milk do me in.

Maybe they use ingredients originally derived from milk in ordinary toothpaste, I do not know.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
