Sick Of Getting Glutened

So once again, I've glutened myself. I sick, sick, sick, of it. I don't feel horrible yet, but it is headed that way hour by hour. Grrrr. So what stupid thing did I do? I used a glass dish that was recently used to heat gluten soup. Washing is supposed to take care of that problem. The other possibility is that I was desperate to get chicken out of my teeth at work and pulled a strand of hair to floss one tooth in the ladies room. I use gluten-free shampoo. I barely touched the underside of my tongue with my washed fingertip. I miss the old days where I could pick my teeth and bite my nails with abandon.

I just can't seem to get healthy no matter how hard I'm trying. I'm going for gluten depression right now. I know you have all been there, and I'm not alone, but tonight, it feelis like I'm the most miserable creature on earth. Right now I'm wondering how I can live another 50 years if I really need to be in a glass bubble.

Now it is time for a gluten nappy-nap.

Wanna share your misery and perk me ups?

Aww hun I feel you. It's so frustrating. Especially when a simple mistake does it, trust me, I've done it thousands of times, either from not knowing or just not being careful enough. Its so frustrating.

It does get easier, but I've been at this awhile now and just somehow glutened myself the other day and have a huge p%$#@# cyst on my chin (thats what it does to me, comes out painfully on my skin within 15 minutes or so). I don't even really know what did it. I went out for sushi the other night and had a roll that had some cream cheese in it, all I can think is maybe the cream cheese had an additive or something. Meh. I hate having to be so careful.

It sucks, there isnt much you can do but be good to yourself and take care of yourself afterwards. I hope you feel better!

Thanks Scott. They are gluten-free but cross contaminated.

Hi there @MCAyr I have a small umbilical hernia which came about during my second pregnancy.   I can just about see it, and feel it, when I stand or sit, but it is far less noticeable when I lie down.  I always know when I am putting on weight because I can get pain and burning near the site, funnily enough not on the hernia itself but either side!  I would imagine bloating could cause the same effect as weight gain. In my case I don't think it is my bowel protruding but a bit of fat  - sorry,  I realise this isn't painting a very pretty picture.  But in truth it is scarcely noticeable.  It has never really got bigger in size. I was rather hoping that it could be operated on but here in the UK they don't seem to operate on every hernia anymore.  My GP isn't remotely worried about it. In a way, I should be thankful - it is like an early warning system that I need to go on a diet! Cristiana

The hernia description would likely be unrelated to celiac disease, but you'd need to get it checked out by your doctor to be sure it's a hernia.
