Hello & Welcome. When I think of Chambersburg I think of sweet juicy peaches! I'm from Butler, Pa & I'm the founder of a gluten-free ministry. I travel often & have just passed your area a couple of weeks ago. I know there is a group in Harrisburg & starting in Gettsburg but again a hike for you.

Wehn I went gluten-free years ago no one was around to help me & I wasted so much money on gluten-free foods not even the dog would eat so I understand. That is why now I devote my days to helping newbies frind their way without breaking the bank. I know all the best of the best in gluten-free & test market much in gluten-free foods. Also there is a lot you still can use from your grocery store. We have very limited shopping here so I travel often to stock up on gluten-free items. I had to buy a freezer for this. But I'm not close to finding the cream of the crop here.......I'll be glad to help you in any way I can. Just send me a PM & I'll give you my reg.e-mail addy. Tell me a little about yourself...

Oh, please. You're what? 10 miles from Hagerstown, MD, which even has an UNOs. And waaaaay less than 2 hours from DC. I used to work LITERALLY a stone's throw from the PA line and traveled there from WV daily, so I know EXACTLY where you're talking about. You (and even WE) are probably in the best place to be without being in the City.

Tammy, who is saying they aren't safe for celiacs? Are you saying that is stated on the product packaging itself or that you are reading where people on forums like this one are claiming they aren't safe? Who is "they"?
    • Scott Adams
If a product is labelled "gluten-free" it is considered to be safe for people with celiac disease (in the USA they need to test below 20 ppm). Some people prefer to eat only foods that are certified gluten-free, which are supposed to test below 10 ppm, however, they don't always test this low.

Why are so many gluten free items not safe for celiacs. I read labels all the time. I don’t know how many times they say that and are not safe for people who have celiacs. So confused. Help….

I’m recovering from diverticulitis and she feels this will help my overall digestive health.

Welcome to the forum, @Jay Heying! What is the reason your doctor is recommending this?
