Today I Started My New Life

It's official! I started today. Doc asked if I need to visit with a dietitian before I go gluten free or wait till the 15th, see how I do....take notes and we can talk. I am gonna go at it and see how it goes then see him on the 15th. This will give me a chance to feel my way around and keep a log of questions for him.

I did go online and found all the medications I currently take and they are Gluten Free. So that is good.

We talked about the COST. Like 232% higher then a regular diet. Have done a ton of reading, being a pretty good cook I am determined to make as much from scratch as possible. It is very handy that my daughter nannied for 3 boys that had a gluten allergy, she did a lot of cooking for them and knows her way around the stores.

I need to get vitamins, he said start taking A, K , E and continue with my D 100,000IU per week. I am to ask my pharmacist to help me with making sure they are the right kinds.

All my other stuff from biopsy we will cover when I sit with him on the 15th.

I really hope that my energy level picks up. I also hope my 3 kids come back Negative, 2 of which have Hashimotos......

Thank you all for making me feel welcome. This is my second support group I find I need. ASAP.org has been my lifeline during Chiari Dx....and surgery recovery.

The food may be more expensive but the cost of being sick all the time is very high!

and feeling well is priceless!!!

      Gluten tester

      I saw the thing for testing for gluten when at public places.I absolutely love but I wonder if they would come up with a bracelet or necklace that can detect gluten in the air.I would LOVE that, i know i get debilitating migraine from smelling gluten wheat what have you, all I know is when I go into places like Chevron- gluten Subway, migraine, Costco that...

If eliminating gluten from my diet had changed anything I’d be happy to just keep on the gluten-free diet, but with eating gluten several times with no rash, and having a rash when I was man...

I am and wish I wasn't. If there was a detector of gluten in the air it would make a world of difference.
