The original post was a long time ago. 2005

My daughter has probable Celiac disease and Eosinophilic Esophagitus. The EE has severe GERD like symptoms and there is a connection to "food triggers" or airborn allergens. The testing would have to be done through an endoscopy with biopsy and specifically ordered pathology report. The eosinophils can be embedded in normal looking tissue.

A hernia, H. Ployri, intestinal parasites, and organ defects can also cause some of the same symptoms to name a few options.

Celiac sufferers have noticed GERd symptoms have dissappeared after going gluten free.

My first symptom of celiac disease was nausea. I was put on gluten free diet on Nov 6, 2011 and am still having nausea off and on. My doctor after several visits decided I did need some help and put me on a nausea patch you wear behind the ear. She also put me on steroids which I really hate to take because I feel they do as much harm as good. Of course, they would help my colon heal faster, but still don't like them. This disease I have found to have more than one symptom and seems to be several diseases. I hope some day research can tell us more and we will know better how to cope with all these strange symptoms. I'm looking forward to that day!!

Sorry that you are so young and feeling so poorly. Have you been officially tested and diagnosed for Celiac Disease? I ask, because going gluten free will render the official testing inaccurate if you are gluten free, should you decide to take the full Celiac Panel Test.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.

You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
