Celiac Disease

If you are diagnosed with celiac disease do most people get tested for anything else to see if there are any other problems. Diabetes, cancer and thyroid disorders run in our family. I had an over active thyroid as a child and was on meds for about three years and have been fine since, but with all these problems in the family should I have other tests done. I also had an aunt who died of cirosis of the liver and she wasn't a drinker. I wonder if this is related to celiac disease?

It's always good to be tested at your yearly physical for things like thyroid and blood sugar. They are part of normal bloodwork and your dr should normally test you. Look back at your medical records to be sure. You can ask for a copy of any testing you have had. When your dr is aware of your family history, he may want to keep an eye on those other conditions. But dr's have a lot of patients so it's a good idea to remind him when you see him that you want him to stay on top of all your issues.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
