Gluten Free Flour At Costco?

A friend of mine told me she saw a 5lb bag of gluten free baking flour at Costco. She didn't have anymore specific details than that. I haven't been to Costco since she mentioned it to check it out. Has anyone seen this before? Is it decent flour?

Not at our Costco in Hawaii or others I've been too in Chicago--

I don't have a Costco near me in AZ but my mom in Southern CA said that she has seen a couple Gluten Free things. One of the things she told me was Bob's Red Mill Quinoa. My SIL goes to the same Costco and said that that carry Organic Chicken.

I think it all depends on the Costco's location and what people are asking for in that area.

I'm from Arizona too, but the Phoenix area. I didn't see it at the Costco near me in Gilbert. My friend said she saw it at the Costco at 44th ST and Thomas in Phoenix. That is very close to my husband's office so I'm sending him to check on it during his lunch on Monday. I got a bit more information she said it was a 5lb bag of Bob's Red Mill All Purpose Gluten Free and it was around $6. That sounds too good to be true, but I am hoping. Is the Bob's Red Mill All Purpose stuff good?

I've heard good things about the flour. I bought Bob's Red Mill Organic Quinoa (4 lb bag) at Costco in Southern California Orange County area. It was a great price. Where is the Costco where she saw the flour? I'd drive to get some because Costco prices are so good.

It was at the Phoenix store at Thomas and 44th Street. I'm sending my husband to check for it on Monday since he works in that neighborhood. I'll update with the price when he gets it.

Thanks so much! :D I'm a bit far (in So. Calif. although if I were driving thru, I'd definitely stop & shop). I can always ask my local Costcos to stock it since it's already in some of their AZ stores.

Hm, I got a 10 lb. bag of Tom Sawyers Flour for $32...so that sounds pretty amazing. I'm going to see if ours here in PA have it.

We like the Tom Sawyer the best for general purpose use. Did you get it online or is it in stores now?

Hm, I got a 10 lb. bag of Tom Sawyers Flour for $32...so that sounds pretty amazing. I'm going to see if ours here in PA have it.

I got it at the Gluten Free Source, LLC in Dillsburg, PA. You can order from them online. I thought the price was high, but I'm not disappointed. I cut it half and half with sorghum for baking, and it makes an amazing cookie.

I checked at Costco. My Costco did not carry it, but they were very helpful in looking up which stores in the area did. It seems about half the Costco's around here carry it. It is Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Baking Flour and costs $5.99 for 5 pounds. If your Costco doesn't carry it I would ask them to check which ones near you do, maybe another one might.

Thanks -- only one on my island but sometimes they will order things from other costco or the mainland. 5.99 for 5 pounds is less than the other stores have 1 lb going for.

Update: checked for the Bob's Red Mill gluten-free Flour at a local Costco in South Orange County in Calif. & they used to carry it but it was discontinued. The manager checked in the general LA area & it was discontinued elsewhere as well. Boo! :(

      Fiber Supplement

      Thanks, I'm not a big fan of prunes but did add them back after stopping the Benefiber. Hoping for the best while I wait to hear back from Nutritionist for a different fiber supplement. Thanks again

      Has anyone had terrible TMJ/ Jaw Pain from undiagnosed Celiac?

      If you were wondering why milk protein bothers you with Celiac Disease. Commercial dairies supplement the cow feed with wheat, which becomes incorporated in the milk protein. Milk omega 6 to omega 3 ratio: Commercial Dairies: 5:1 Organic Milk: 3:1 Grass fed milk: 1:1

      Has anyone had terrible TMJ/ Jaw Pain from undiagnosed Celiac?

      My TMJ ended when I lost a middle lower molar. I had an amalgam filling from youth (1960s) that failed and the tooth broke. I had what was left pulled and did not bother to replace it. My bite shifted and the TMJ went away. I just had to be careful eating M&M Peanuts because they would get stuck in the hole.

      Yes, I wondered about the units as well. That large number sure looked more like what we're used to seeing in connection with total IGA scores rather than TTG-IGA. The total IGA test is given to determine if you are IGA deficient. In the case of IGA deficiency, other IGA tests will b skewed and their scores cannot be trusted. Elevated total IGA can point...

TTg IgA antibodies are made in the intestines.  Ten grams of gluten per day for several weeks before testing is required to provoke sufficient antibody production for the antibodies to leave the intestines and enter the blood stream and be measured in blood tests. If you had already gone gluten free or if you had lowered your consumption of gluten before testing, your results will be inaccurate and inconclusive.   See link below on gluten challenge guidelines. Have you had any genetic testing done to see if you carry genes for Celiac disease?  If you don't have genes for Celiac, look elsewhere for a diagnosis.  But if you have Celiac genes, you cannot rule out Celiac disease. You mentioned in another post that you are vegetarian.  Have you been checked for nutritional deficiencies?  The best sources of the eight essential B vitamins are found in meats.  Do you supplement any of the B vitamins as a vegetarian? Deficiency in Thiamine Vitamin B 1 is strongly associated with anemia which can cause false negatives on antibody tests.  Fatigue, numbness or tingling in extremities, difficulty with coordination, headaches and anemia are strongly associated with thiamine deficiency.  Other B vitamins that contribute to those symptoms are Riboflavin B 2, Pyridoxine B 6, Folate B 9 and B12 Cobalamine.  The eight B vitamins all work together with minerals like magnesium and iron.  So your symptoms are indicative of B vitamin deficiencies.  You can develop vitamin and mineral deficiencies just being a vegetarian and not eating good sources of B vitamins like meat.  B vitamin deficiencies are found in Celiac due to the malabsorption of nutrients because the lining of the intestines gets damaged by the antibodies produced in response to gluten.
