Beer And Celiac Disease

My husband still drinks beer and does everyday so I never get to kiss him like a husband and wife but more like a friend on the cheek. Does anyone else out there have this problem or did your spouse quit drinking beer since you were diagnosed? Also, how do you kiss you spouse if they still eat food containing gluten?

My husband is not a beer drinker anymore. The last 6 pack lasted well over 6 months. He is on some medications and he can't consume much in the way of alcohol any more. On the rare occasion he has a beer he knows to brush his teeth and thats that. He is really good about this after eating gluten stuff too. As far as I know I have not had any problems. He will even tell me if a soda bottle is safe for me or not if we sometimes share a drink.

My guy drinks beer, eats bread. I've never been glutened from kissing him. But with jobs and teenagers and all the talk about BM's, passion has been on the back burner for a long time!

My wife still drinks beer and eats all forms of gluten. Not a problem with me. IMO, you're being too paranoid. The gluten in beer is miniscule to begin with.

My hubby drinks beer & eats gluteny food. I get a kiss on the cheek afterward, but I'm only worried when I can see evidence of gluten on him (a crumb or a drop of the beer on his lip), haven't had a problem yet :)

I wait a while after my husband has eaten anything glutenous, but I certainly don't not kiss him. :)

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
