Good morning and thanks! Midel and Kinnickknick- yeah! Do you have to order the Kinnick stuff only by mail? I went to their website and shipping was horrible! :o I haven't found it in any stores that I've been to. Just wondering.

Nope...I have Kinnikinick bread in my health food stores. You may need to order by mail for donuts and the like, or ask your local health food store if they could carry some Kinnikinick products for you. One health food store near me orders larger quantities of certain products, knowing that I'll buy a lot

It seems all the detectives here hit it on the head..I reconfirm with the above posts that Mi-Del makes the oreo and that Kinnickinick makes the doughnuts..

There is another issue raised here concerning overeating and I like tarnalbarry's suggestion..

Another one is this concerning mixing any fiber powder and water..

If you read the instructions they tell you to mix the fiber with 8 ounces of water.

Then they proceed to tell you that you need to throw down an additional 8 glasses of water over the course of the day to make the fiber work....

That is just dead wrong and the instructions are dropping a subtle hint what to do instead..

Remember that fiber expands in water BUT fiber congeals with saliva and gastric juices..If the fiber goes down while any food is in the stomach with just 8 ounces of water, congealing will dominate..

This was actually proven in the automotive industry. ARCO graphite was supposed to be the ultimate lubricant for autos since graphite exists in the pump os every kitchen fridge..The problem with that is that your freezer's compressor turns on and off with shorter rest periods than an auto. Autos are more like a stomach, changing temperature of things coming in which are changing them in return and resting for longer intervals of time. This caused the graphite filings to congeal and plug up ports in cars, ruining engines..The same thing happens to the human gut.

Once congealed, the fiber will not be able to be mixed in your blender or with any spoon since it is in the gut. The inner part of the clumps formed become more sealed into position by additional water and the fibers on the inside of the clumps cannot get any water to expand since they are now suffocated.

To solve the problem you mix the powder with about 1 to 2 quarts of water and take in a little throughout the day, restirring or reblending each time that you do.

Appetite should drop and the fiber should expand properly.

There is a gluten-free intestinal rejuvination powder called RevitalX..

I get the Kinnikinick stuff at my local co-op health food store too... they are also more than willing to special order large quantities if I want them to.

I have had Glutinos and Mi-dels "oreo" type cookies. Both are really good!!

I went through the stage of "eating everything I could" because I COULD!! It is hard to get past that point and back to just eating normal again. SO hard when you are "deprived" not to just pig out on what you can eat and what is SO good!!!

Hang in there... it will happen eventually!! I have learned to not keep goodies in the house ~ because I eat them! ;)

P.S. What is the brand of those yummy doughnuts?? :D

Man... am I in the same boat... to the tune of about 25 pounds!! I started making the yummiest homemade risotto... who doesn't like cheesy, sticky rice??

I don't even want to FIND gluten-free goodies on the shelves!!

I totally agree with you. Since starting this, i have eaten nothing but bad things. No matter how hard I try not to, I can always find a way to justify the potato chips or the candy bar. My family can go ahead and eat a roll, i will just have extra ice cream, stuff like that.

I tried some great gluten-free cookies and was almost unhappy that they were gluten-free.

GLAZED DOUGHNUTS AND OREOS!!! GLUTEN FREE!!! :o

WHERE CAN I FIND THEM? WHERE?!!

Guest gfinnebraska

Here is the doughnut website: Open Original Shared Link

And I get the cookies here: Open Original Shared Link

Hope that helps!! You can also get the cookies at your local health food store if you are near one. I am not, so I order on-line!

There are other Celiac genes. HLA DQ 2 and HLA DQ 8 show up in people from Northern European descent.   People of Mediterranean descent have HLA DQ 7.  People of Asian descent have HLA DQ 9.   There's other Indigenous populations that have other HLA genes that code for Celiac disease.   Are you still having symptoms?   What do you include in your diet?  Are you vegetarian? Are you taking any prescription medication?  Omeprazole?  Metformin?   Do you have anemia?  Thyroid problems? Are you taking any vitamins or herbal supplements?

There are eight essential B vitamins.  They are all water soluble.  Any excess of B vitamins is easily excreted by the kidneys.   Thiamine is Vitamin B 1.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Benfotiamine and TTFD are forms of Thiamine that the body can utilize very easily.   The form of Thiamine in the supplements you mentioned is Thiamine Mononitrate, a form that the body does not absorb well and does not utilize well.  Only about thirty percent of the amount on the label is actually absorbed in the small intestine.  Less than that can actually be used by the body.  Manufacturers add thiamine mononitrate to their products because it's cheap and shelf-stable.  Thiamine and other B vitamins break down when exposed to light and heat and over time.  Thiamine Mononitrate is a form that does not break down over time sitting on a shelf waiting for someone to buy them.  What makes Thiamine Mononitrate shelf stable makes it difficult for the body to turn into a useable form.  In fact, it takes more thiamine to turn it into a useable form.   Gastrointestinal Beriberi is a localized shortage of Thiamine in the gastrointestinal tract.  High carbohydrate meals can result in gastrointestinal symptoms of Gastric Beriberi.  Fiber is a type of carbohydrate.  So, high fiber/carbohydrate snacks could trigger Gastric Beriberi.   Since blood tests for Thiamine and other B vitamins are so inaccurate, the World Health Organization recommends trying Thiamine and looking for health improvement because it's safe and nontoxic.
