So Why Do People Get Headaches When They Quit Gluten?

Do you only get them if you were gluten intolerant in the first place, or would a person who is not gluten intolerant get them too if they quit gluten?

I quit a few days ago. Mostly I feel ok, but I have headaches in the evening. And it isn't like this is a huge diet change for me. I have avoided bread for years and mostly eat healthy, home cooked meals. So I don't feel like the headaches are from not eating enough.

Why do people get headaches when they quit drinking caffeine? Why do they sometimes get headaches when they quit smoking? It's the withdrawal effect. If you get a headache when you quit eating something, you are most likely addicted to it, and therefore much better off without it.

Good Question :) I've been gluten-free (wit the few slipups) for a few weeks now. Still getting headache. I can't figure out if it's from eating something I shouldn't or withdraw... Mine is sinus pressure & headache... Seems to happen right away after eating, but not always. Still trying to figure out what foods I can & can't tolerate...

My daughter has high cholesterol so we pretty much follow her diet & eat healthy. I've noticed the little traces of gluten we use not just bread...

I can't have milk products either...

Anyhow know how long the withdraws last?

Going on a cruise next week and I’m a celiac. Bought a bottle of GliandinX. Should I just take two tablets per day as a precaution? Never tried this before!! Any help is appreciated!!

Good point, as thyroid conditions are more common in those with celiac disease: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/thyroid-pancreatic-disorders-and-celiac-disease/
