Doritos

I was talking with a friend who's DH is celiac. She had a list that said Doritos were safe. I thought I looked at ingrediants and saw the Cool Ranch were okay, but not the original. Does anyone know for sure? I tried to access the web site and they require an adobe flash which I can't load. HELP Her DH is going on a "guys" trip and you know they need munchies! :D

I just looked at the list and the plain ones are fine. I tried to copy it but couldn't. They have a really long list so probably most flavors are fine. Read the labels. I also like Santitos which are only $2 per bag.

Looks like the only Doritos that are not gluten-free are Nacho cheese and Spicy Sweet chili.

They may be gluten free by ingredients but many of us have had CC issues with Lay's products. The only product they make that I will eat is plain chips. Lays does make Stacks which are made on dedicated lines. I can't eat them because of soy but if he is okay with soy I would go with those over the Doritos.

This is a list from a different part of the website. It is for US only.

U.S. Products Not Containing Gluten Ingredients

Some people suffer from an intolerance to foods containing gluten, which is a type of protein found in wheat, rye and barley. Neither wheat, rye, barley or oat ingredients are found in the Frito-Lay Products listed below (we include oats in this list as a precaution as oats are often commingled with gluten-containing grains). Please note however, that other than our LAY'S

. . . and an FYI . . . the Krogers brand version of the Nacho Cheese Tortilla is free of gluten ingredients.

Thanks for all the info. I do believe the bag I looked at was the Nacho, which I see are not safe. The Cool Ranch looked okay, but I understand the possiblity of CC. As alwyas....Thanks for the quick responces. :D

My husband is a Celiac and almost LIVES off of Cool Ranch Doritos. They never ever make him feel sick so i would say that without a doubt yes they are safe.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
