I'm sure someone may have posted something like this before, but I figured I would throw this out there. Has anyone had any back problems that came up after being diagnosed? Currently, my doctor is looking into one degenerating disc and two wedged vertebrae. DW is thinking it might be related to mal-absorption from the damage that we all went through.

I have kyphosis and a little scoliosis. Lots of wedged vertebrae and DDD. Presumably from celiac-related malabsorption as I have osteopenia. I'm almost 60 mow and beginning to have more and more back pain. I develop lower back pain while sleeping most nights and I'm prone to thorasic strains and pinched nerves because of the curvature problems.

I've alway been prone to what I considered "pulling my back out and extreme klutziness." i also suffer from ataxia which i learned here is caused by a vitamin deficiency. I have osteoporosis and I had herniated discs when I was younger. My most recent flare with Celiac has caused excruciating abdominal and lower back pain. I am following a modified elimination diet to find triggers outside of gluten. I was also just diagnosed with an ulcer (I'm a mess). Everyone says that we do heal after following the diet. The time frame varies for individuals. Hang in there@!

P.S. I'm currently unemployed and am a self proclaimed resource geek. If you ever want me to research something for you please let me know.

I find that if I sleep on my back I wake up in severe pain. I even had h=no sensation in my legs in the middle of night one. I now sleep with a pillow between my legs (not a very large one). That tends to keep me from sleeping on my back and helps with waking up in less pain.

So yea, it's not what they originally thought. Well, I still have the wedged vertebrae, but it is more along the lines of a herniated and torn disc that is causing all the pain. So it looks like surgery... Just waiting on when.

So sorry to hear that. Will keep you in my prayers and send healing positive energy (I strongly believe in it)!!!! I had a herniated disc when i was younger. Didn't have surgery. Used a TENS (transcutaneous electrode nerve stimulator) machine (it was experimental then and I wish I still had it). It really helped with the pain.

I've had back issues as long as I can remember but so much better now. I used a TENS also but no longer need it. Not sure if this is allowed - is there anyone that could use it? They are an expensive item.

My back problems largely cleared up gluten free, but come back when glutened. What also helped a lot was an exercise and stretching program developed with a physical therapist.

I might be able to use it. I lost mine years ago. Would you let me pay you for it?

I appreciate it, I also believe in positive healing energies. I will have to ask my doc about that when I see him again. Unfortunately, it is beyond a herniated disc. Got the results of my MRI and I have degenertating disc disease, degenerated joint disease, the hernia, spinal stenosis, and a disclocated vertibrae.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
