Cover Girl

I just chatted on line with a representative from Cover Girl Cosmetics. She said that none of the eye shadows, eye liners, mascaras, or blushes have gluten added to them. I asked about cc. She said that could see no reason for that.

So, has Cover Girl cleaned up their act? Are they safe to use? I would really like to find some make up at a neighborhood CVS that I can use.

Sounds like their customer service has improved significantly! I was essentially accused of trying to steal their secret recipes for their cosmetics a few years ago because I wanted to know if there were any gluten containing ingredients in the cosmetics I had been using for 15 years. I sent a letter to management and got a CYA reply, so I stopped using them out of principle.

I have one of the blushes that has oats in it. But I did buy it a year or 2 ago (you gottta buy when you like a color) and recently opened it so maybe the new ones don't. I figure the amount of cross contaimination in the tiny amount of oats will be next to nothing. It doesn't go on my lips.

I just don't use makeup w/ gluten because my kids are kissin on me all the time. Worries me.

Oh I shall pin them down if I have to when they're teenagers!! DS makes me hug and kiss him a block away from school so his friends don't see, but at home, he's attached to me like glue  DD feels sorry for me so she makes a point to hug and kiss me in front of her friends to make up for her ornery little brother :P

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.

To evaluate the TTG antibody result we’d need to know the normal range for that lab.  Labs don’t all use the same units.  However, based on any normal ranges that I’ve seen and the listed result being greater than a number rather than a specific number, I’d say yes, that is high! Higher than the range where the test can give a quantitative result. You got good advice not to change your diet yet.  If you went gluten free your intestines would start to heal, confusing any further testing,
