Kroger Brand Spices Ok?

I'm suspecting that we may be getting some cross contamination with our spices. Are Kroger brand spices ok? Specifically, is their chili powder safe? If not what is a recommendation for safe spices? Thanks!!

I am not sure about the Kroger Brand items. Although I did at one point find a list of their products that are gluten free. I will look for the link again and post it. I personally wouldn't trust chili powder though because it is a spice mix, and that is usually where you get into trouble. If you have a whole foods near you, their chili powder is okay.

As for spices, McCormick's single spice items are gluten free. And pretty much all Penzey's spices are gluten free ecept their Bouillon spices.

Kroger s[ices are fine. I use their chili powder. As with other stuff in the U.S., any wheat would by law HAVE to be listed. The reality is that even with spice mixes, very, very few contain wheat.

Thank you! I've found Kroger to be pretty good about their allergy labeling. Usually if it was processed on a line that also processes other allergens they list it. I was a little leary of their chili powder though. My girls seemed to react to the chili I made but I think it was the beans rather than the powder. I think we're going to forgo the spices for a little while just to be on the safe side. I've heard mixed reviews on McCormick spices. They say no gluten is added to their single spices but they process them in the same area as their gluten containing stuff, I'm leary of CC with them. Thanks for the recommendations! I will check out the wholefoods chili powder and the penzey spices.
