Still Having Stomach Symptoms-Help!

Hi. I'm a 25 year old female I was diagnosed with celiac a year ago and have been G.F.for months now. I'm having severe constipation and fecal impactions. I have been to the ER for this more times than I care to remember. I was feeling really good, then went on vacation got food poisoning and have not been the same since. Never had constipation or impactions before. I have burning pain in my gull bladder and also in my upper left side under my ribs. I also have been feeling extremely ill before and during having a bowel movement. I am wondering if anyone else is getting this? I was told by an ER doc it is probably a vaso-vagal type of response. I have a few good days here and there, but mostly sick. I am extremely dizzy when I have stomach pain, or need to have a BM. I feel icky to the point of almost anxious when I have this pain. Went to the Doc and she is running a G.I. Effects Stool profile because she thinks it may be some sort of parasites or something...just wondered if anyone else is having these symptoms and what helps them?

What helps me with that type of pain is liquid Pepto Bismal. I'm glad your doctor is running the stool panels. Perhaps that will pinpoint what is going on. What are you typically eating? Are you being real careful about CC? We can become more sensitive to very, very small amounts of gluten after we have been gluten-free for a while. Also have you tried eliminating dairy and soy? It is not unusual for us to have intolerances to those in addition to gluten. For me soy causes severe pain and constipation and gluten severe pain and D.

Ya I did notice that it gets worse with milk. After eating chex cereal with milk. Last night I drank milk with dinner. I think that might have done me in. I have endomertiosis as well, so I know hormones could have a lot to do with it. I am trying to be careful about CC, and not getting glutened. I'm still somewhat new to this, and still getting the hang of it. Hoping maybe the stool samples show something and we can get this thing knocked out. I have 2 small children and its hard to function with this happening!

It really is a learning process going gluten-free. Staying away from restaraunts, eating whole foods, and avoiding soy and dairy are good steps to take. Also check your vitamins pills and medicines for gluten and soy and dairy. Use simple spices like salt and pepper or maybe a little garlic. Watch out for flavored coffees and teas, plain is better.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
