I Miss Lindor Chocolates :(

My favourite treat at this time of year is the Lindor white chocolate balls, but they have barley malt extract :( Can anyone suggest similar, delicious alternatives? Thanks :)

No, I am just here to commiserate! I don't trust much of the chocolate out there...For example, Aero bars, regular, have no mention of wheat. The little small bars in bags say "may contain wheat" even though none of the ingredients are wheat-y and the ingredient list is the same on both. Maybe it's where it's manufactured, dunno, but I don't want to risk it. I could email the company, I just probably don't need the chocolate anyway.

However, if anyone has any suggestions, I am OPEN to them!!!

I've never had any problem with Ghiradelli chocolates and squares. Be sure to read the ingredients panel to be safe, but I've never seen anything questionable in the ones I've tried.

For white chocolate lovers, the white chocolate Toblerones are gluten-free :) I love those, as well as Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!

For mini chocolates (i.e. hallowe'en size candies), they are on a line that is not cleaned between processes, so they may contain wheat. Apparently the lines for the regular and large sized candies are cleaned between each kind.

Oh my, this: Open Original Shared Link looks HEAVENLY!!!! They also have mint and peanut butter... mmmm.... can't wait to try them, thanks for the tip :)

What about Botticelli Hedgehogs? They're belgian milk chocolate: Open Original Shared Link

INGREDIENTS: Milk Chocolate [sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, chocolate liquor, nonfat dry milk, butteroil, soy lecithin-emulsifier, vanilla extract], Hazelnuts. Produced in a plant that uses peanuts and tree nuts.

The only thing I'm thinking might be a problem is the chocolate liquor? No additional ingredients listed for it... what do people think?

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
