Blender Advice

I want to buy a blender or food processor. I think at this point I want a blender. I want to make things like tabbouleh, hummus, guacamole, etc. I want to be able to blend items together.

Every blender I look at online has zillions of negative reviews and I'm starting to just get confused. What blenders do you guys have that are dependable and will blend, chop, and just plain be awesome?

Any insight is appreciated.

Hubs researched blenders quite a bit last summer to replace our old classic Osterizer. When all was said and done, he bought another Osterizer from Costco, I believe, or may be Target. Anyways it wasn't expensive and we have been thrilled with it. I see Amazon is selling them very inexpensively.

Hey there, i bought a refurbished demo model Vitamix 5200 a few years back and have never been disappointed with it. It has a hefty price tag, but you really do get what you pay for. I use mine on a daily basis. Green smoothies for breakfast are the cat's pajamas!

However, i think a food processor is more handy than a blender when it comes to making the things you mentioned. I say this because a food processor is easier to clean, plus it is easier to remove the blended or chopped product. To me, a blender is best for smoothies, shakes, and liquefying stuff.

Have you considered one of those blender/food processor combinations? I don't know anything about ratings, but one machine that takes the place of two would be a big hit in my kitchen.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
