I have a reciepe that calls for "potato starch flour", when I went to go buy some different flours I could find "potato starch" and "potato flour" is "potato starch flour" something completly different?

I was going to buy the potato starch but thought I'd ask here first. Too many different things to learn. lol

They are completely different things. However, tapioca starch and flour are the same thing. A bit confusing!

That recipe for potato starch flour is really confusing the issue. It should state either potato starch or potato flour. The way they listed it is just leaving you guessing which they mean. Potato flour is normally used in very small amounts, so if it says 1/2 cup potato starch flour, they probably mean potato starch.

I would buy potato starch.

Potato flour is not something used very often and then only in very small amounts. It's a really heavy flour with a definite potato flavor.

It definitely means potato starch.

Thanks so much, yes it is very confusing

One of the things in the same recipe book is to make a gluten-free flour mix that I wanted to mix up and it also calls for Potato starch flour as well as rice flour and tapioca flour. I will go with the potato starch then.

Thanks again :)

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.

I wasn’t clear, glucagon and gadolinium were intravenous. I drank about 5 cups of the prep during 45 minutes. I feel very tired now, probably partly because I was nervous, and partly because I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand and wasn’t very hungry when I got home.

That seems at lot of solution to have put threw you when you already have bowel issues , I will phone them tomorrow because it's sorbitol I have reactions too, thankyou for the input how do you feel now ? I'm not sure I can keep still for that long with my back issues either unfortunately I didn't know it could take that long 😕

The solution I had to drink contained sorbitol and mannitol. I was in the MRI, lying on my back, for about 40 minutes. I was given glucagon partway through, and a gadolinium contrast agent. After I got home there was some diarrhea from the prep solution.
