Anyone Try Celiact Multivitamin?

Just last month a company started selling a multivitamin that is specific to people with Celiac Disease called CeliAct. Has anyone tried this yet? Is it worth the $50 a month for it? I've been taking an off the shelf multivitamin that only costs me $15 for like a 4 month supply, so for me $50 a month is outrageous, but if it REALLY works and makes me feel better, I'll switch. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

E

After looking at the levels of the vitamins and comparing them to what I already take I realized I need more of some individual vitamins than they provide. So I would still need additional vitamins and for me just sticking with the ones I take was the more cost freindly option.

Yeah that's the thing I can't justify is the price, and it almost comes off like gouging to me because, yes, this is a unique blend for Celiacs, but they want $50 for one month's worth of pills, and even then you have to take 3 pills two times a day.

I would love to hear from a dietitian on this and see if this multivitamin is a load of garbage or not.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I too was interested in this vitamin when I saw the article written here on Celiac.com, but after speaking with them it seems there are allergens within that haven't been disclosed, such as eggs. Not sure why eggs were even used in the process (something I haven't seen), but the fact that they don't label any of the allergens outside of gluten makes it unappealing in itself to those of us who have other sensitivies/allergies.

Another problem with it is the fact that they put digestive enzymes in it as well, which need to be taken with every meal as far as I know, and that would lead you to splitting it into 2 times a day for three days. I thought the price was pretty fair for something with Probiotics and Enzymes in it as well as a multi tho. It really gets expensive, especially for a college student, to purchase all of them :(

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
