Does anyone know what it would take to promote a run/walk, or bike ride?

I live in Denver, Co. and would love to get something started.

You could email Danna Korn. She promotes and runs the R.O.C.K. (raising our celiac kids) walks. We've done them four years in a row now and I think she's really worked out the kinks. Our last one in May was great. Go to the ROCK web site and email her from there. Good luck!

I realize too that this is based on an old post, but I love to run! Are there groups that run across the US in support of Celiac disease? If so count me in! :)

Did anything ever come of this? I haven't heard of any kind of event that brings awareness to and supports celiac/gluten intolerance on a national level.

It would be neat as a community if we could get something like this going, like a 5k run/walk one day a year.

There is an organization called Open Original Shared Link I am thinking about joining once I have a little more distance to my runs.

I'd love to help organize a specific 5k for Celiac in the Denver area. Maybe May or October would be good months to have it because those are the two known Celiac awareness months I know of.

Any other thoughts/suggestions?

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

      Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
