I have a aluminum large pot and cookie sheets with scratches on them. Are they items to get rid of?

Thought so, thanks.

You can line scratched sheet pans with parchment paper or silpat.

Get rid of the pot, but you can get by with just lining the cookie sheets with foil or parchement if you want.

I agree...get rid of the pot and keep the cookie sheets but line them with parchment or aluminum foil.

When you say aluminum you mean plain metal right, not Teflon? If they're Teflon toss them. If the pot is hard anodized aluminum it's unlikely you'll be able clean out the scratches and that anodized coating is too thick to remove easily.

Otherwise for plain aluminum I say keep them both. Scrub the #%&! out of them with steel wool and Bar Keeper's Friend, which is an abrasive cleaner containing oxalic acid. You'll remove the layer of aluminum oxide and polish the aluminum underneath, which will certainly remove gluten. Then wash out the pot with lots of dish liquid and a gluten free sponge and run the cookie sheets thru the dishwasher. And, to put my money where my mouth is, this is how I de-glutened my aluminum cookie sheets after 14 years of gluten-filled cookies being baked on them, with no ill effects.

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
