Talked To My Doctor Finally :-/

So I went to my doctor today (finally) about my symptoms he said it sounds just like Celiac. He did a blood test and should be getting back to me shortly. Kind of nervous about this  I also discussed with him my in ability to always walk in a straight line and my balance issues which I read something on here about Ataxia that could cause this. He did some tests in his office, which I did not exactly pass with flying colors :( Waiting now for the neurologist to call me or my doctor with an appointment. Gotta have an MRI done. I hate those things, only had one other done before when I had torn my meniscus in my left knee. Those things are sooooo loud and intimidating lol... Oh well, I will let you guys know my results soon as I get them myself. That is if anyone cares :( Wish me luck everyone!! :)

I care! :) Glad you are on the track to getting some answers. It sounds like your doc might be a good one, which is so refreshing to hear these days!

I have balance issues, too. I cannot turn around too fast (like in the kitchen, from the stove to the sink) without loosing my balance. If it happens in public, like the grocery store, I always look around to see if anybody saw me....they might think I was drunk.

Good luck, and keep us posted for sure! :)

Definitely let us know! Take Care :)

So 2 days later and no news from neurologist with an appt. And of course both doc's offices are closed tomorrow. I live in Central NY and everyone is waiting to see what Irene has in store for the east coast. One more unforeseen occurrence to dampen the mood around here..... Better keep the rum and tequila coming!! :P:D:lol:

I was diagnosed at 6 after having severe stomach pain after eating white bread or any kind of gluten my sister had one done aswell I was scared for the biopsy but thats bc the gas mask thing but now that I am a 14yr old female struggling with severe chronic pain making my body ache for no reason making it hard to sleep and do the things I love like playing spot which I love to do but I can sometimes not even be able to walk bc my knees hurt so bad I can or my hips or back the only think I wish for is to be a normal kid which I can't even be and I get accused of faking pain bc there is no physical things to notice especially at school when one day it will be so sore im limping the next im walking perfectly fine idk if its all from celiac disease but im the only one in my family that has this problem

I noticed eating gluten-free or CGF foods have higher sugar and sodium some. No added sugar protein bars I found better with plant fiber. I wanted to know what are you go to besides whole fruits/veggies that you find are healthy for you where you can feel eating normal without hurting yourself or health. I was looking into subscription based like Thrift to see if there is something that is healthier CGF that can make me feel normal. Thanks

Thankyou because I met up with K B with well known bay area hospital once and she said she knows I don't like to take meds, I said thats incorrect, I have issues.Thats the one that said I was deemed " unruly " when she admitted I was celiac when I asked why am I going through this.

Cristiana, that sounds like a great approach and I will be looking forward to the results. I am in the same boat as you. I don't experience overt symptoms with minor, cross contamination level exposures so I sometimes will indulge in those "processed on equipment that also processes wheat . . ." or items that don't specifically claim to be gluten free but do not list gluten containing grains in their ingredient list. But I always wonder if I am still experiencing sub acute inflammatory reactions. I haven't had any celiac antibody blood work done since my diagnosis almost 25 years ago so I don't really have any data to go by.
