Ibs Symptoms While Healing

I've finally hit the point where I'm feeling better more often than bad, which is great. I'm feeling like a normal person almost all the time now, so I'm very happy. One question I have for everyone is if you experienced any IBS symptoms as you got better? Not to be gross here, but I've noticed in the mornings, before I have a bowel movement, I get very crampy and semi-nauseated, then I have the bowel movement, continue with those symptoms for a half hour or so, and then am fine the rest of the day. Anyone else have this happen?

I have been gluten-free since December with a few accidental exceptions and this did happen to me on and off for a few months. I've never had IBS, I tend to lean in the other direction but this was still unusual for me. Now it just happens a few hours after I have had a gluten exposure. I am intolerant, not allergic. Maybe your "movements" are larger now than before and your body isn't used to it. I suspect that was part of my problem. Good luck.

It's pretty normal. I think I had IBS like symptoms and loose stools for the first couple months I initially went gluten-free.

And don't worry about grossing anyone out on this forum, it's pretty hard to do

That was happening to me until I cut out dairy. No more unexpected cramps!

Well, the GI I saw recently told me I likely have IBS and celiac disease, yay me :-/

Reason being is I still have pain in left side of abdomen after being gluten-free for almost 3 months, which would relate to large intestine issues, not typical small intestine problems, which is odd because my overall bloating got better, so gluten-free diet was doing something.

Also, I fasted for a week before being tested for celiac disease to try and get that pain to go away, but it stayed the entire time.

I don't get D or C really though, not unless I add stimulants like coffee and alcohol to my diet, or take too many metals in multivitamins or something.

@StuartJ, what brand of gluten-free flour did she use?

Congrats! Can you share the recipe? We just picked up a bread maker from an estate sale and are experimenting.
