Beef/turkey Jerky Recommendations

Anyone have any beef or turkey jerky recommendations? I'm not a huge fan of jerky but I've found I feel better the more protein I eat and jerky would be a great option to throw in my purse so I have an easy option when I'm out and about.

Thanks.

Trader Joe's has one that's "no gluten ingredients". I know I saw one mainstream brand, will try to find it...

We buy Old Wisconsin. Gluten free and no MSG.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have easy access to a Trader Joe's right now (*sniff*) but will once we move this summer. I'll track down Old Wisconsin.

While poking around online I found one brand called Golden Valley -- I saw it on a couple of gluten-free blogs but I emailed the company to see if the products were still gluten-free and they replied almost immediately! Their response:

"Thank you for your interest in our Golden Valley Natural Jerky. We have several Gluten Free Jerky selections for you. Our Organic original, peppered, teriyaki, sweet & spicy, and bar-b-que flavors are gluten free. We also have one Natural Turkey jerky selection that is gluten free and that is our bar-b-que flavor. I hope I have answered your questions and I do hope that you will try our delicious gluten free jerky. Please let me know if I can be of any further help."

So another option to try! I think a taste test is in order.

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
