So I recently emailed glaceau after noticing some curious sounding ingredients on Vitamin Waters. I asked about gluten and this was the response:

I asked this about 2 years ago and got the same response. Always good to have updated info.

I have not found gluten in mainstream " soft drinks" . It's still good to check the ingredients.

I gotta say though, I drank a vitamin water and didn't feel too good the next day. It may not have been gluten but vitamin water does have a lot of ingredients so perhaps it was something else. I guess this is one that people will have to try and see how it feels for them. Me personally, I'm gonna stay away from it.

Oh and it was "Modified Food Starch" on the waters label that I was concerned about to begin with. I know that if the starch contains Wheat, then it must be stated in parenthesis, but I don't think that applies to Rye or Barley, so it's tricky.

Rye or Barley would not be a component in Modified Food Starch. In the US, MFS is generally derived from corn.

Okay. Then I guess I was sensitive to one of the other ingredients. I take a gluten free daily multi anyway so I don't really need it.

      I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

      Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?

      Thankyou so much for your words.Its a hard battle when a supposed well known hospital whose celiac " specialist " has down played me because my colon looks fine and put it in my medical and so pcp doesn't take seriously. In their eyes we all carry that gene.Im having alot of bad days trying to be positive because of it.
