I just made these kale chips. They are delicious! Really easy too.

We enjoy those frequently ! Good, aren't they!?

(never used brown sugar though, just sea salt) I learned how to make them a few years ago while watching the chef Jacques Pepin. It's a way to get my guy to eat his greens

The only thing is--you gotta eat them ASAP. Not a "save for later" at all.

We've had them at our house for ages as well. They are excellent many ways but my favourite is simply with a crunchy finishing salt such as fleur de sel. Addictive suckers! :P

Haven't tried it yet, but my dad told me about kale pesto. Kale, olive oil, pine nuts and parm cheese in the food processor. Would be good on a piece of chicken or on some veggies.

It IS good. You can also add garlic to it. Great on pasta and pizza as well. I make all sorts of pesto including sundried tomato, mint, sage, arugula, kale, basil (of course) and use various nuts such as walnuts, pistachios, almonds...

I freeze pesto in ice cube trays and once frozen put into freezer bags. When I need one or two little blocks they are accessible.

I tried these once before going gluten-free. I didn't add sugar though. I wasn't sure if I liked them at first.

I sat the bowl of chips on the counter and had to keep going back for more. They were addictive. LOL

Is the kale raw or cooked for the pesto?

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
