  1. I wish I had known that 10 years ago Oh well, GREAT things come in small packages..
  2. I take Inner Health Plus, but I don't know whether you can get that where you are I get the dairy free, powder
  3. I couldn't tell you the amount of times that my friends have invited me out to a restaurant but I've said no because it's not gluten-free and there's no guarantee that they will accomodate me. I miss my friends! I want to go out with them, so I've said yes this time. There's no way to change the restaurant venue - they've planned it around themselves...
  4. thanks for visiting blogging makes me happy, and it's helped with trying to decipher all this allergy/intolerance stuff. i didn't realise just how many times i've written "so i'm sick again".
  5. In Australia It's ok, we're used to getting shows late and avoiding all the spoilers we can. It just sucks because I love the show so much! We were lucky enough to be in the US when it started airing in 2004 so that's when I got hooked too, and when we got back to Australia we had to wait and wait and wait.
  6. Sago is a big thing in Asian desserts I tried it a few months ago and didn't really like the texture, maybe I cooked it wrong? No harm in giving it a go - it's cheap to buy (in Coles, where the cooking stuff is I think)
  7. My miniature poodle does that too - throws the ball in the air, kicks it with her legs and pounces around after it. It's so cute to watch her entertain herself (and us!)
  8. clockworkjoce, I feel the same way! I've only been here for a week and I really feel 100% better about what's going on and what I need to do for myself. I feel like my family and friends don't really 'get it' but everyone here does
  9. I'm also in the boat of 'not wanting to go back to gluten just to test'. I couldn't bear it if I did. I do feel strange that I don't know whether I am coeliac or not, but I don't feel bad about the decision I made to avoid the foods that made me sick. Why go back to foods that I know I don't mix well with? Good luck
  10. We have to wait for Lost until next FEBRUARY (2007), and I hate being spoiled (and can't download episodes fast enough) so you won't see me in this thread soon I looove Lost. The way it screens here is all the way through, new episode every week (with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 reruns depending on timing between stations in ratings periods...
  11. I agree with the retriever comment, some dogs don't have the instinct or haven't developed it yet With my dog (miniature poodle), we slowly taught her how to play fetch when she was about 12-13 weeks. I'd throw her something maybe 5 inches away, and then encourage her to pick it up and bring it back to me. Lots of praise for bringing it back. I'd increase...
  12. Also 5'1" (at 25) and the shortest/smallest in my family.
  13. I've been here for less than a week, but I've read back on ALOT of threads here I haven't seen any negativity, maybe I'm blind now But I think healthy discussion includes all points of view. Shouting matches, ok not so much, but I respect that people have different opinions. It's just how you express them. Support each other! But also be open...
  14. For me, it would be a judgement on whether you want to go into the whole deal (first few dates, maybe not?). I would probably just say 'oh no thanks, I have bad food allergies so I better not risk it' and hope he didn't go nuts on me. If he did, well that's his problem really.
  15. I've always wanted a tattoo but thought I'd get sick from the ink I mean, I'm getting sick from everything else why not tattoo ink aswell I love Angelina's tattoo - especially the one you've quoted. It really fits well
  16. That really sucks! I've taken photos of my tongue this past week - they're terrible photos to look at but you can clearly see that something's going on with my tongue. I'm leaving proof Fingers crossed for your bloodwork
  17. Scheherazade, welcome to the board I'm new to all of this too - and I'm finding it really helpful around here. Do you keep a journal or a blog? It might encourage you if you can write down how you're feeling everyday, and see progress as you go along. Good luck
  18. Oh! I have another 'symptom' I think, no doctor has told me what it could be or what it is but I think it's a vitamin deficiency - * funny taste/smell in my mouth/nose. It's almost metallic, sometimes smoky (though I've never touched a cigarette).
  19. Thanks for that Shiba! I take my dog down to Cafe bones every now and then and didn't realise they have gluten-free muffins! I'm going to have to check it out again I order lots of things from Open Original Shared Link and have it delivered - you can do the same if you're travelling around Australia and have a postal address /uploads...
  20. Thanks again everyone I feel like I've had a religious experience here - I really feel like I can do this properly now. It's comforting to read everyone's stories and advice, keep them coming if you have some! jenvan, I think some of the pain in the joints is from my RSI (i work on a computer 10+ hours a day, for the past 5 years) so I'm not worried...
  21. Yeah I know .. I've stopped using the toaster altogether. I just happened to be cleaning and noticed a very crumby (and scary!) toaster sitting there taunting me
  22. I'm not sure you can get it where you are - but Inner Health Plus (Dairy free) has been really great for me Open Original Shared Link Basically any probiotic should be handy now and then, you don't need to take it forever - just when you feel like you need a helping hand
  23. After my recent symptoms, I'm going to be more diligent with keeping things seperate We couldn't figure out why I was SO SICK again last week, until my husband confessed that he had scraped jam off his toast and put it back into the jar (ewwww). I was eating the jam all last week! I've also taught my husband the art of cleaning the toaster - he never...
  24. Thanks for the replies I could cry I'm so happy I found people like me - seriously! Especially when you, CarlaB, said 'You're not crazy' - because I didn't think I was. I didn't really know about food allergies and effects until this year. LauraJ, I'm 25 too! I hope things are better for you.
