  1. georgie, i haven't been diagnosed as celiac, but there is no way i'll go back to eating gluten just because someone has told me i'm not celiac. do what is right & good for you and your body - don't worry about labels.
  2. Can you get your hands on the ingredients, Saz? As long as you can have corn or tapioca, it should be OK
  3. Great advice I'm going to wait a full year of being gluten-free and then I'll go get a check up with the doc to see how I'm going before we TTC It's really important to me that the baby has a good environment to grow into, so waiting will be worth it.
  4. The B vitamin said to take it 10 mins before food, but I think that's what my problem is. So I took it today with 2 mouthfuls of food - just so that my stomach is not completely empty We'll see how it goes ...
  5. This is the smartest thing I've learnt when it comes to eating gluten-free. You don't have to buy the overpriced gluten-free labelled stuff - go for what's natural, basic staples that are already gluten-free. For me, it tends to be ALOT cheaper if I buy my fresh fruit and veg from the markets. About $5 for a full bag or two of everything. I've also...
  6. "Tropical Source" actually made me very sick. It shouldn't have but it did.
  7. I don't think I've ever seen a timeline before, but I'm sure someone else can point you in the right direction. I've kept a blog about what I'm going through, but it's not necessarily a 'timeline'. I haven't be diagnosed celiac, I am following a gluten free, yeast free diet. I've also had gluten by mistake a couple of times. In my public entries, I...
  8. Funny you say that.. I started back on my B vitamins 2 days ago ... It didn't happen when I was on them before I found that info last night ... I don't eat or drink fast at all, lol, and I don't chew gum or drink with straws etc.. I think it's interesting though - it might just be something I do now - swallow extra air! That's funny it's a PMS...
  9. I did a search but didn't find anything specific I've been gluten free for months now, but in the past 4 or 5 days I've been belching every 5-10 mins or so. Not huge burps or anything, but tiny air escapes I guess. (No 'downstairs' air escapes, lol). I don't look or feel bloated. I'm exercising as per usual and haven't changed my gluten-free...
  10. Call their customer service line or drop them an email to check Not all choc is gluten free and they don't mark it so on the packaging. I tend to stay away completely nowadays The equipment used to make chocolate might have traces of stuff on it and that gets cooked into the chocolate.. And yep it might be the kind of milk too Hope you feel...
  11. No candida, but I can't have yeast - which is similiar? I'm also gluten and lactose intolerant Did you get a good gluten/yeast/lactose free probiotic? It's helped me alot I'd go with the fish, chicken, vegetables, rice diet - there's no need to go without totally. Gluten free pasta, basil pesto and chopped up tomato is nice Quinoa with a chopped...
  12. Agreed If I never found out about this place, and posted how I felt in my first thread - I would of never been on a road to recovery. For that, I am truly grateful and will always post positively towards others here. For me, this messageboard is for growth and wellbeing, not just for myself but for every other person here.
  13. Would it help if you wrote it all down? I've kept a blog for years, and if you go back through the archives there is NO DOUBT there is something wrong with me and it's food related. It's helped me look back and go 'wow I really am sick and I NEED to do something about this or it'll be another 5 years of "gees i feel like crap" ' Even if it's something...
  14. Big reason why I say "I can't eat any flour" instead of "I can't eat gluten" to someone who doesn't know what gluten is yet. Hope it doesn't get too bad for you .. xx
  15. Thanks for that I love it when magazines get into it a bit more! My blog is at Open Original Shared Link - I'm eating through every supermarket and restaurant one meal at a time
  16. Do you have a good gluten-free probiotic handy? I find that if I need it to move along quicker, I start taking my probiotic in the morning and night and it shortens the recovery time by a few days. It helps me flush out the gunk in my digestive system
  17. I haven't had the Leda ones - but I've just polished off the Naturally Good Choc Mint Biscuits - they're amazing!! My blog is at Open Original Shared Link - mainly just Sydney related gluten free stuff but I guess you can find it anywhere in Australia or online
  18. Did you ask what was in the IV? You gotta make sure to do that with anything and everything that goes into your body - even if it's at the hospital, they won't know unless you ask them sometimes :s It's like if you're allergic to penicilin and they give it to you because you don't have an allergy alert tag or can't tell them.. Not good!
  19. For dehydration, I've been drinking Gatorade as it's gluten free (here in Australia at least). I don't think it has corn/soy/dairy in it either. I have a hard time getting enough water down I bought pedialyte (or the equiv. here) but I haven't had to use it yet because I'm feeling better already. The chemist said that it was gluten free, but I'm not sure...
  20. I'm almost crying because now I KNOW I was glutened in my story ... Pre-dx (aka the worst day of my life) I was on a trip in Malaysia in January this year, we were on the top floor of a very hot, stinky and busy shopping centre that was at least 30 years old so everything was crowded and dank. All of a sudden I felt the URGE to find a bathroom...
  21. Nini, I'm in Australia - so the nearest Walmart is ... in Hawaii? lol
  22. Ahh see, I don't think we have that brand here - so far I haven't come across any wheat-free soy sauce. Doesn't matter, Tamari is just as good (and even better!)
  23. What was on the sushi? I feel the effects pretty much straight away or within 20 mins. The last time I was glutened was when I ate a small tiny piece of pickled ginger on my sushi. I'd never eaten it before (because the pickling process is dodgy on my stomach) and forgot that it was there when I popped a piece of sushi in my mouth.
  24. I met these guys at the Gluten Free Expo last week - I'm planning a trip to the factory Open Original Shared Link are my favourite corn chips ever - and they happen to be gluten free and organic I have a blog with alot of gluten free food entries in my area. PM me if you want the link I'm not sure whether I can post it here.
  25. Make sure you exchange soy sauce for tamari instead - soy sauce has wheat in it Good luck x
