  1. I would look hardest at the bread mix. I don't think it is possible to take the gluten out of wheat.
  2. You will look anorexic if you are at a dinner party, and everything being served has gluten in it! People don't hear as much about celiac disease as they do about anorexia, so they make judgments based on what they know. However, for a >doctor< to make such and erroneous judgment is just plain wrong!
  3. I agree with Tiffany on the saltwater. It works wonderfully at clearing out infections!
  4. Ah, advice from a veteran poster on how to post! Much needed by me!
  5. Thank you again, celiac3270! This is so much easier and less time consuming! I should have asked sooner!
  6. So I guess I am not common!!
  7. The first couple of weeks I was gluten-free, I didn't think I was feeling any better. Then I ate a regular roll. Whoa, boy, the difference was monumental! I knew without a doubt that I felt much better off gluten than I did on it! It takes time to heal and to notice the difference. It is very much worth it. I saw how my mom died, as an undiagnosed celiac...
  8. According to my doc, I have normal blood sugar levels, but high insulin levels. I have noticed that I will get light-headed and headachy if I go too long without food, so I have been trying to eat smaller meals more often. I also will get extremely dizzy shortly before storms, so I think maybe I am reacting to barometric changes, as well. Anyone that knows...
  9. Thank you celiac3270! I use view new posts every time I log on, so I knew about that feature. I just didn't know how to go from reading on post to the next without wasting valuable reading/posting time waiting on my browser.
  10. My mom was probably an undiagnosed celiac, she sure had all of the issues (except cancer!), and she had 5 babies and 1 miscarriage. I was undiagnosed until last year, and my kids are now 21, 16, and 15. I had three normal pregnancies, with healthy babies and no complications. If you have gone gluten-free now, your body will be pretty much healed by the...

Ah-hah! So that's how it's done! Thank you!
  12. After I post, I use my browser's back button to get back to the list of threads. It takes at least three clicks of the button to get back, and the time to wait for it to reload. Is there a faster way of going back after posting?
  13. I went gluten free Feb 14 04, and had biopsies taken Sep 15 04. There was healing, but there was still enough damage to get a positive diagnosis. Good luck with yours, I hope you get definitive answers and good help!
  14. Two minutes here and two minutes there will add up! I hope someone that needed to hear you was listening!
  15. Ending intestinal permeability does not stop my body from attacking the gluten. I think maybe it will end some of my food allergies, but not enough for me to be willing to take a pill every time I eat, or even just once a day, for something I can control by watching what I eat.
  16. Dessa Starting weight: 199 pounds Goal weight: 179 pounds Can't remember my starting points, I have to go back and find the list! Brain fog....AARRGGHH!!!
  17. If I accidently eat a little bit of gluten, I am reacting to it for two weeks. It just takes a long time for it to completely clear my system!
  18. Your need for the antidepressant could very well be unrelated to celiac disease. I need Lexapro to help me cope with the changing hormones that come with menopause. I have weaned off of it, and I feel the loss of it! Try using sunshine to cope with depression. If you are just not motivated to work, maybe you need a new job? Or an added challenge, to...
  19. I am happy with the way Kraft labels their products! I read the entire ingredients label myself, regardless of what is in bold print on the label. As long as the suspicious ones are clearly identified, I can handle it.
  20. Every time I tried to use emoticons they wouldn't work. I could only get them to go at the end of the page. Now I see that I have to put them in as I type instead of after I finish my message! These are so cool! Thanks for the emoticons
  21. WI this morning is 199. So my short-term goal is to lose 19.9 pounds. I'll make that an even 20! I ate plain M-O-M corn bursts this morning, I will have a cup of 2% milk in a few minutes. My daughter did point out that my weight today is 2 pounds lower than it was a couple of days ago, so I think I will be happy!
  22. When I get email notification, the message tells me there may be other replies, but I will only be told about one. Maybe that is what is happening.
  23. Thank you for the recipes. I will have to try them!
  24. My allergy to rice causes me major problems with buying mixes. I really need to look at the costs of things online and compare them to my whole foods store. My Kroger does not have a gluten free selection that I can find. I will have to make hubby take me so I can look up and down every aisle! And not let him rush me!!
  25. celiac3270 must be the Google Prince!! Thank you for this link!
