From the comments "I happen to know the whereabouts of this Damian Cardone. He is living with his new fiance, in Sea Girt, NJ. I am friends with XXXX and I think the guy is a total jerk. The town of Sea Girt should be notified of this guy who is now probably looking for employment since his reloction to New Jersey." I "X'd" out the fiance's name but... -
ARCHIVED Australians And New Zealanders Hellooooooo :)
nutralady2001 replied to Aussie Peg's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm afraid my opinion of the Australian Coeliac Society has moved down several notches with their "push" to have the gluten free status of food raised from <5ppm to <20ppm . We were always the frontrunner in Coeliac Disease ....no more. -
ARCHIVED Christmas Dinner Woes
nutralady2001 replied to georgie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i am so sorry Georgie! I too wonder if there are deeper issues here. Tell them you'll bring your own food (make it "Christmassy" and VERY appealing) all you need is a microwave to heat it and see what they say then. I am so lucky. I usually go to my daughter's and she always checks with me and reads labels then asks if she isn't sure. If you lived... -

ARCHIVED Australians And New Zealanders Hellooooooo :)
nutralady2001 replied to Aussie Peg's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Welcome ! I also have Hashimoto's Disease as well as Coeliac Disease. Lots of Hashi's people find going gluten free helps reduce antibodies. Bear in mind though that thyroid hormone is essential for your body your thyroid gland controls everything. A gluten free diet may not be enough and you may need thyroid hormone replacement. Keep testing TSH, Free... -

Oh I hear you ! Problems as a child in the '50's, OK I'll cut the doctors some slack back then not much was known. Diagnosed with "eczema" in the '60's, know now it was DH, then in 1969 with "mucous colitis" was so sick that year the Education Department refused to give me permanency til I'd been teaching a year and had another medical OK still cutting some... -

nutralady2001 replied to canutillomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've been wanting to comment but have quite honestly been rendered speechless. This is abuse, plain and simple. I would not take this and say nothing......contact her, show her the rash and quite honestly you would be quite within your rights to tell her you can never trust her again. Ask her how she would feel if you put "just a little bit" of... -
I also had antibodies tested after the biopsy. All the antibodies were positive and my tTG was 300 (0-35)

Yes I know. I also have Hashimoto's Disease. I'm convinced that if I'd been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease many years earlier I may not have Hashi's. Thanks for the article, I'm always interested to read of the correlation. My siggy gives you our family "history" Somewhere I must have a rellie with Coeliac Disease. I can't believe I'm the only...

ARCHIVED My 8 Year Old...too Late For Celiac Diagnosis?
nutralady2001 replied to KekesMom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
There is no age limit. I was 8 in 1956 and already having problems. I wasn't diagnosed til I was 58 and had a multitude of other problems that may have never eventuated if my doctors over the years had got their heads out of their collectives and joined the dots. I now have vitamin deficiencies, auto-immune thyroid disease, scoliosis, arthritis and osteoporosis... -

nutralady2001 replied to Mandy Armfield Jennings's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would also have your thyroid gland checked and have these tests run TSH FREE T3 FREE T4 TgAb and TPO antibodies for Hashimoto's Disease, another autoimmune disease that kills the thyroid gland. I have both Hashimoto's Disease and Coeliac Disease as do a number of others here I believe. iron including ferritin Vitamin D Vitamin B12 -
I'm speechless. Very close correlation between Type 1 diabetes and Coeliac Disease. My grandmother was a Type 1 diabetic as were 3 of my aunts, as is my older son. I am not but have Coeliac Disease ( + bloodwork and biopsy) Mum's side of the family is riddled with auto-immune disease. AND you are hypothyroid. Do you have Hashimoto's Disease...
