My primary symptoms if I get glutened now are brain fog and fatigue..............mind numbing fatigue I will stay in bed and sleep the clock around! I was told for nearly 40 years that I had "IBS" in fact the damage to my villi was so bad it still showed up in a scope after 12 months gluten-free with a couple of slip-ups and taking iron tablets when I... -

nutralady2001 replied to Joyous's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am at my daughter's for Christmas and brought my own toaster/butter/jam (labelled with my name) etc didn't use her chopping boards. She rolled her eyes and said "You are paranoid Mum, a crumb won't make you sick!!" I told her my doctor wants all my children tested and she rolled her eyes again . Thanks for posting Dr S. I at long last have an answer as to why my teeth have been the bane of my life since I was a child to the point where I now have a top plate and am staring down the barrel at a bottom one in the not-to-distant future. I used to get so upset when dentists told me I wasn't looking after my teeth when I knew I was -

ARCHIVED How Do I Deal With The Feelings?
nutralady2001 replied to nutralady2001's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes I certainly understand the docs of the '50's and '60's not figuring it out. My poor parents took me to skin specialist after skin specialist in the 1960's trying to figure out this terrible "eczema" of mine. I had my whole hands bandaged up in gauze bandages where it was worse and my Mum had to bath me (at age 16) that how covered I was Of course... -

Thanks Tiffany....I know I'll be OK.......... it's the answer to 47 years of misery They say in Australia only 1 in 10 people with Celiac Disease ever get diagnosed which is woeful statistics. nutralady2001 replied to Joe Hoffman's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Try 47 years of being told you had "IBS" after initial symptoms at age 12 and "ezcema" at age 15 So many things make sense now, the "IBS" is Celiac Disease (diagnosed by positive biopsy October 2007 and subsequent positive antibodies November 2007) and the "Ezcema" I am sure was DH -
