I'll probably buy a packet this week as am off on Thursday to Mt Gambier for a 4-day conference . Most of the meals are included and I'll probably have it for breakfast. I do use... -

nutralady2001 replied to Aussie Peg's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hi Amber yes I did one of the most amazing experiences of my life I found when I cut out glucose syrup that my energy levels soared and the lingering brain fog went. I also have Hashimoto's Disease , another auto-immune disease that kills the thyroid gland and can produce the same symptoms, fatigue/brain fog I am wondering if it is because... -
ARCHIVED Ibs - Or Are Doctors Missing Other Problems?
nutralady2001 replied to cmbajb's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Absolutely!! A diagnosis of "IBS" kept me sick for 47 years (yes you read right) until last September when I had to have an endoscopy/colonoscopy after a bowel screening showed blood in both upper and lower GI tracts ........ In all those years I was NEVER offered any testing of any kind just told I had "IBS", problems from the age of 12, "eczema" at... -
ARCHIVED Australians And New Zealanders Hellooooooo :)
nutralady2001 replied to Aussie Peg's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
You'll need to read the labels, a lot of them contain glucose syrup made from wheat. The Coeliac Society will tell you it's safe as it's so highly processed there is no detectable gluten, however it made an enormous difference to me when I trialled cutting it out I found Toppa in Woollies the other day, has "available at Woolworths or Safeway only" stamped... -

Yes me! ARCHIVED Giving Blood
nutralady2001 replied to JNBunnie1's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Here in South Australia people with auto-immune disease are unable to give blood. I haven't given blood since I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease in November 1994 and should probably never have given it as I am sure I have had Coeliac Disease since I was 12, undiagnosed until 4 months ago -
ARCHIVED At The Start Of A Long Road
nutralady2001 replied to writerscramp's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome! I was diagnosed about 3 months ago , and believe I was undiagnosed for 47 years. How much misery I could have saved myself if I knew about Coeliac Disease and insist my docs do more than just telling me I had "IBS" and there was nothing they could do. Finally had an endoscopy/colonoscopy because I was iron deficient and a bowel screening showed... -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Actually Feel 100% Better?!?!?!
nutralady2001 replied to LilyCeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am some-one that went 47 years without a diagnosis Here in Australia glucose syrup/dextrose/maltodextrin from wheat is said to have "no detectable gluten" because of the processing renders it at 0.0002% ( 2 parts per million) and is considered "safe" by the Coeliac Society After chatting in my Aussie Coeliac Yahoogroup I decided as an experiment... -

Have been following this thread I'm so pleased for you! Reminds me of when I went out once there was a part of the dessert I couldn't eat (the dessert was OK but there was a sauce containing gluten poured on it) and we let them know.
