Budew replied to wildlife-lover's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have growths not lesions, but I can say my doctor put me on l-glutamine and a probiotic and prebiotic to assist in healing. I am amazed at the results. Good Luck Also I ordered it online at totalglutamine for 1/5 the price. -

ARCHIVED Symptoms Returning Or Worsening With Periods?
Budew replied to Robina's topic in Related Issues & Disorders

ARCHIVED Does Anystill Eat Gluten?
Budew replied to uhmanduh's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
If you are going to be tested for celiac you must eat gluten before being tested. "A trial of a gluten-free diet also can confirm a diagnosis, but it's important that you not go on such a diet before seeking a medical evaluation. Doing so may change the results of blood tests and biopsies so that they appear to be normal." Mayo Clinic Quote -
ARCHIVED Help Need Make Up!
Budew replied to hez's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have been doing research for gluten free foundations and concealer. Given the leisons that I have had for years I need make up to leave the house. I have felt I have been in a vicious cyle. I could never go long enough without make up to see if it was a problem. I CAN"T TAKE IT ANYMORE! Today I found that Bobbi Brown carries gluten-free products... -
I had a hard time finding gluten-free iodine free multi vitamins. Iodine exasserbates the skin condition. I finally found vitamin water. I've run it past 2 doctors and a pharmacist. All seem to think it is a good alternative.

ARCHIVED Can Anyone Help Me With More Sites?
Budew replied to darlindeb25's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am in the same boat. Only a few foods left. Yesterday someone posted Open Original Shared Link. Only 5 foods contain gluten. I made a spread sheet listed each limiting reason. It was uplifting. There are several things I've never tried and intend too. I also am dealing with the pain issue. I take hydrocodone daily. It doesn't do anything but take... -
ARCHIVED Restaurant Made Me Feel Very Uncomfortable
Budew replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
That's terrible. I agree with Nini. I'm a celiac vegetarian with multiple foods in question. I have the most success if I do order something. I only eat fresh veggies & fruit, steamed or sauted in butter. I read under the entrees for ideas of individual foods they have I can eat. So far so good. There is always a bad apple out there. One of... -

ARCHIVED Digesting Meat After Being Vegetarian
Budew replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Too weird. Vegetarian 30 years and suddenly I craved chicken. I even ate chicken broth. Then this morning I started the 20 grams of l-glutimate. They craving is gone. Too weird -
Wow, that is a whole lot to handle. Hopefully sharing eases the burden. You guys sound like a great couple. I went through a lot of emotions with restrictions, tests, and doctors. It helps me to be able to express my feelings without judgement. Validate my feelings. No blame. Nobody to try to fix it. Just someone to listen supportively and hold me when I...

I take levothroxine. Thanks for the websites. It will be fun to investigate. You know I found taking my husband to be very demeaning (spelling?) My husband is a busy guy, so we try to make it a problem scheduling so maybe the doctor will change his behavior and start listening to me. He sits with list of questions and makes sure everything we need...

I am with you on every point. I was one of those folks on heavy meds needlessly, by will call it a mistake. I warn people. hen I resisted they even threatened to put me in an institution against my will, "not taking them would be a danger to my life" Scared me. I have been resisting medical advice for years. I'm curious if you have any comments on contrast...

Ursala said.. Regular GPs are clueless on this, just as most are clueless on celiac disease (and many other things they didn't learn in medical school). Funny thing happened the last 2 days with my doctor. He was supportive, understanding, concerned, and determined to help me. I guess he's shown signs of coming around for about 6 months. He and I have...

Andrea- I really admire people with the courage to raise children. It must be really hard to deal with the isolation child rearing can cause for some folks. As a teacher I know what it is like not to have another adult to talk to. One year we made an area in my 5th grade classroom for the children of a stay at home mom (former teacher) who was having a...

Thanks this forum has been great for me. Personally being sick cut me off from other people. I cherish these connections. Before illness I got my satifaction from helping others. I taught for 22 years. Every year I adopted a family to help. Without the job I just couldn't find a way to help others. I felt like no one needed me. Right now I feel like I'm...

ARCHIVED Digesting Meat After Being Vegetarian
Budew replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You are so good. I checked it out already. My local grocer carries Pacific free range organic chicken broth. Deep breath. I hope people don't think less of me for not being vegetarian, but desperate times bring on desperate measures. I think I can do this. -
ARCHIVED Digesting Meat After Being Vegetarian
Budew replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I was thinking organic free range chicken broth might be a start. Do they make such a thing? I know what you mean about messed up hunger responses. Never hungry, never full. It is not a moral thing with me either. Monfort meat was in the same town I went to college. The workers went on strike because of the mental anguish of working the kill line... -
I am not showing deficiencies so I don't know why except they see how hard it is to get a good balance with the few foods I can eat. I needed guidance on what to take if I were to go the seperate vitamin/mineral route. I did find vitamin water. 2 Bottles a day plus a zinc and b complex is what I try to do now. Sometimes the water is hard on my system...

It was hell. Two years vomiting more and more. Finally I ate only white potato margerine salt and water, 6 months. My wonderful hubby made sure I got out of the house anyway. I would lay in the golf cart and watch him golf. I could sense when an episode was going to end by the taste. I began saying I'll be ready in a minute I am almost down to the...

ARCHIVED Body Rejecting Food..
Budew replied to Mahee34's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Echo too! I feel for you. I can be doing so well. Not even making changes and POW! Can't even keep water down. It is really scarey. Last August I was on vacation the maid called an ambulance I looked so bad. They made sure I wasn't on drugs and sent me home in the same condition. A few days later it went away as fast as it came on. It has hapened... -

ARCHIVED Digesting Meat After Being Vegetarian
Budew replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've been vegetarian for 30 years. I am proud of it. I hate to give it up just because it is so much a part of me. Lately I am considering chicken, trying to get past feeling bad for the chicken and the folks who had to kill it for me. I know for me free range organic would be a must. Did adding back meat make you feel better, or just make the diet easier... -
I'm charting my husband's temp. He averages 97.5. Doesn't sound too low but he is tired, aches, "feels cold" Physical stimulation helps for a short time, so do hot showers, today we found that food helps. I'm trying to talk him into letting me chart blood sugar. He watches me stick myself every 2 hours. Hopefully he will be a willing spirit soon. I...
