ARCHIVED Down To 97 Lbs.what Is The Name Of Generic Imodium That Can Be Used?
Budew replied to Anne AMP's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Speaking of make up? What brands are safe? I too struggle to keep my weight up. I was frustrated at work by co-worker's lack of compassion. They thought I was so lucky. Lots of folks only have compassion for people who are overweight. -
I balanced my fats and carbs yesterday. One day without sweats. I have my fingers crossed. I need a glycemic index with a complete list of fruits and veggies.

Good point! Use only gluten-free crispy rice! -
I found out white potato makes me itch. Even a slice and by bedtime my face legs and arms are effected.

ARCHIVED L-glutamine/stomach Pain & Gylcemic Index
Budew posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Unwisely I tried 2 things at once. I took L-glutamine with Florajen 3 probiotics, & I increased my fats to slow digestion to keep my bloodsugar from spiking. I think the fevers are related to bloodsugar and will get a meter to check. No fevers yesterday! But stomach pain, not nausea. Like I did a couple hundred sit ups. Trying to decide if I should... -

ARCHIVED Does Anystill Eat Gluten?
Budew replied to uhmanduh's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Carla is right. You are lucky to know now so you don't end up like us. I'm sure I had it undiagnosed for 20-25 years. I never had the classic celiac disease reaction, still don't. But the other problems it created are not worth it. Because I ate gluten ( and loved it) while I had the disease, my body was ravaged by it. I am also luck my husband is able to... -

ARCHIVED Glutening Symptoms
Budew replied to slpinsd's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't usually react to gluten but follow the diet very strictly. Like you I tested it. I ate vegetarian chicken nuggets. Gluten is the meat substitute. I miss those products. It is the only reaction I ever had and it lasted for days. I could not even drink water for a couple days afterward without being sick. Mom's has had celiac disease for 50 years... -

ARCHIVED Suddenly Starving All The Time
Budew replied to emcmaster's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I want fats. But all the media says it is wrong. My body does not seem to process them either. Aways a layer of fat in the toilet. Critically low cholesterol andfat levels when tested. I'm vegetarian so I talkflaxseed oil. The coconut oil info is interesting. I was on another thread discussing sweats, and a possible connection to bloodsugar spikes... -

ARCHIVED Suddenly Starving All The Time
Budew replied to emcmaster's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sometimes I eat tons and sometimes I have a hard time getting 300 calories. I was all wound up about it. Mentioned it to my husband and he replied, " Don't worry, you cycle evey month like this!" I think for me it is hormones. So I eat when I want, fast when I want, but use the scale to guide my decisions. As long as I stay between a 15 lb. range I go... -

ARCHIVED Headache, Nausea, Belching, Dreaming About Being Sick...
Budew replied to JenKuz's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Terch the FDR quote became my immediate mantra. "when you get to the end of your rope you need to tie a knot in it and hang on." JenKuz you said I'm stressed out, and I'm depressed and feeling guilty because I can't work like I want to. Not being able to work like I want to is big. I have a passion to teach and I feel a responsibility to make positive... -

ARCHIVED Reintroduced Gluten--change In Blood Test
Budew replied to Helena's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I think about 100% gluten-free verses limited exposer because I don't have outward negative effects if I have gluten. I wonder how damaging to the system (and what exactly happens) if I taste something with gluten on ocassion. I'll be interested in the answers your question may generate. -

ARCHIVED Hope For Our Leaky Guts!
Budew replied to Marlene's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My doctor is in integrative medicine. He has me on both L-glutamine and probiotics. He did a cool blood test to see what vitamins and minerals are being absorbed and selected supplements. I tried to start it all at once but found it better to add one at a time, not to upset the system. So far I added flaxseed oil, B vitamins are next. I am... -
The only thing I can comment on is thyroid. I took meds for years and finally discovered that iodine can interfere with the uptake. Maybe you are gaining weight because you are not getting it into your system. My thyroid tests were all over the board before I quit the iodine. Even though I took it as prescribed, sometimes the tests were high and sometimes...

My mom has had celiac disease 50 years. She has had this problem my whole life. She gets relief from a gas x these days. It's never gone away no matter wha she's tried. I vomit and cough. Today we talked about how we both use our thoughts a bit of biofeedback to suppress theses symptoms until we are in a socially acceptable place, just like people with torrets...

Budew replied to Budew's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks so much. You are a big help. Hope is huge. I am headed for Texas in March. My nephew is in Houston I will see if I can talk with them. In the meantime I will try again starting with the probiotic. I also you make a great point about the hormone testing. My body has been re-adjusting since I stopped depo-privera after 10 years, besides being... -

ARCHIVED Headache, Nausea, Belching, Dreaming About Being Sick...
Budew replied to JenKuz's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm so glad you wrote in. I've been reading the board wondering if anyone else was feeling as sick as I am. I hope not being alone helps you as much as is does me. I've been like this for 5 years. Everything you mentioned except my dreams are about the deaths of my dad, grama, and pets. It is hard to believe that I spent the first 2 years, naked wrapped... -

5 years gluten free and still sick. I have eliminated all animal products, gluten, nightshade fruits and vegetables. I basically exist on coffee, water, apple juice, vitamin water, rice, apple, pear, watermelon, carrot, celery, lettuce, brussels, asparagus, mushroon, onion, and raw cashew. I have chronic generalized pain, sores on the skin that don... -

I know there is potato vodka, Sake is rice, Grist is a gluten free beer, Rum is made from sugar, Tequila is okay, Domestic Wine is better than foriegn brands because other countries boost the alcohol content with grain. I thought all other sprits were made from grain.
