ARCHIVED Cnn Special On Celiac Tomorrow ?
HawkFire replied to Judyin Philly's topic in Publications & Publicity
I feel a bit sad that it took a woman on a tv show to get the disease (and her five year old son) for the word to get out nationally. It's been a long hard road for those (myself included) who went so long looking for a dx only to discover the disease is effectivly managed through diet. The real story is surely the strong arm of the pharmeceutical companies... -
I'm in california, but I will persue the best health care I can find. I was wondering if he was worth the effort. Thankyou

Yes, otherwise Poor Heidi will think she's all alone. Who knows what resistence she encountered in trying to open up a dialogue about a personal health issue. She was very brave. -
I want to see if he can help with my joint pain issues.

ARCHIVED Can You Be Celiac W/out The Genes?
HawkFire replied to anerissara's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My gene test actually came back negative several years ago. I am thinking it was a test gone wrong. I clearly have Celiac Disease by other testing results. Not to mention the dietary response. I believe we cannot put all of our faith into a single test and multiple testing can become quite costly. The very best test, imo, is the dietary response. If... -
ARCHIVED Cnn Special On Celiac Tomorrow ?

Thank you Karen. I have sent an email. I also want to suggest again that others send in questions that were not answered by the segment. To encourage a broader discussion about the disease. How about a segment on food choices? Food companies that are meeting the gluten free food needs of our growing population? How about including resources on restaurants... -
ARCHIVED Cnn Special On Celiac Tomorrow ?
HawkFire replied to Judyin Philly's topic in Publications & Publicity
wow. This was a great opportunity to inform the public. I have emailed them myself. I asked several questions for which I already know the answer. I asked questions that I, myself had a difficult time comprehending about the disease when I was initially dxed. I am hoping that my questions, along with others I assume will pour in, will prompt a second... -

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
HawkFire replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am thinking of the viruses I've been exposed to in the past years that I am aware of. I know I had epstein bar, mono. Is there a test like the one from igenix that tests for a chronic case of mono? I want to get the best test not a junk test. I know my children had fifths disease in elementary schoool a few years ago. I read that adults can get joint... -

I have checked my email again. There is still no response from igenix that they have recieved my request for a testing kit for lymes. I must have done something wrong as it has been several days now. Could someone please tell me the link to the kit ordering service once again? Thank you for the link. I emailed them the first time. Is this what I'm... -

I have this joint pain for two years on and off. I have been tested for lyme. I have been tested fro mycoplasmas and lupus and ra and parvo and epsteen bar and more that I know nothing of. I am negative in all respects. But perhaps my lyme test was not a good test? I emailed for a test kit from ignix labs but they have not emailed me back. Will they... -

can lyme's disease cause joint pain? I have struggled with joint pain for two years. No test shows why that is. My old lyme test was negative. Do you know if lyme can cause joint pain? I have ordered the ignex kit. -
have you had your thyroid checked? My best friend had hypo or hyper whichever one makes you lose weight thyroidism. Her wedding picture looks terrible. It kicked in before her wedding and she lost weight so rapidly that her dress was literally hanging on her body like a little girl wearing her mama's dress. She was below 100 pounds that day. She cancelled...

I know three people in my town who happen to have ms. I have told all about celiac disease. None have celiac disease. I do not believe that most ms is misdiagnosed celiac disease. Ms can exist independent of celiac disease. You may not have ms. You may have simple celiac disease that has become quite uncomfortable. Please rule out ms since your symptoms...

Where is the best place in the country to live if you have celiac disease? Some towns are better than others offering restaurants known to be friendly to celiacs and having health food shopping marts that offer extensive lines of gluten free products. Some towns and states are not known for their knowledge.

Ok I will. I am out of computer paper.... I cannot print this out. I'm afraid to lose it again. I suppose a pencil and paper will have to do. I don't know if I can remember how to actually write. Oh my goodness! You are still a member? That was 2004! Well, amazing! And amazing cookie! -

When I was not a member, I saw this recipe a long time ago. I should have posted then, but am posting now. This is a very good cookie. I used it for a long time but have since lost it. I didn't think I'd ever find it again. It was just here, just like that! I didn't even get frustrated looking for it. I am going to make them right now. To the woman... -

Hello! I just want to say that australia is so beautiful. Oh, I loved it there. I should look into relocating to australia right on the beach. Ok. I saw this post and had to gush. My daughter recently did a project on australia and it brought back so many wonderful images.
