ARCHIVED Prednisone As Treatment?
angel-jd1 replied to pturse's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I work in 2 pharmacies as a pharmacy technician. I would NEVER ask my pharmacist to do the footwork for me. They are WAY too busy and stressed to take time out of their day to sit on hold for 45 min with a drug company to find out ingredients. It is sooo much easier for everyone involved if you find out the drug manufacturer and call them yourself.... -

I know brach's makes a candy like those (who knows if those are brach's) however brach's isn't a safe brand because they refuse to let us know if they are gluten-free or not, they just pretty much say "don't eat our candy" GRRRR!! If I were you I would just throw them away and substitue with something else. (Trade the kids for something safe) ... -

ARCHIVED Celiac In Toronto News Today
angel-jd1 replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Publications & Publicity
I'm more upset about the article, not the use of the low-gluten host. That is each person's personal decision. I'm just upset that the magazine has decided to chastize this lady for creating an awareness of the disease. -Jessica -

I was just curious if anyone else gets Gluten Free Living Magazine. In the new issue (I just got mine yesterday) there is an article about this issue. The article is about the little girl and the mother and it goes on to pretty much condemn the mother for making... -

There have been articles out recently about people on the adkins diet (which is very similiar to ours) having increased bad breath. I'm not sure where your odor comes from, but you might want to do some searches on "low carb body odor" and see what you can come up with . -Jessica -

High and Low blood pressure can also cause dizzyness. You might want to have that checked. -Jessica -
Anytime I get gluten in my system I run a fever of about 99(I always run below normal any other time). I have always chalked it up to the immune response that is going on because of the gluten ingestion. White cells are being produced to fight against the gluten, so I figured that was what the fever resulted from. -Jessica

ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed

Iron can be very harsh on your stomach to begin with. If the company says it is gluten-free, it most likely is. I would bet it is just the iron giving your problems. Other ways to get iron are drinking some orange juice or other vitamin C filled drink along with eating a piece of iron filled meat like beef. The vitamin C helps with the absorbtion and...
