  1. I saw this posted on another board. I can't find the ingredients listed online. Does anyone know if these are safe?
  2. I think we are allergic to the honey nut Chex. Don't they have almonds? But thanks!
  3. Maltodextrin in the US is not wheat based.
  4. I'm not doing anything special. Canned baked beans, maybe some hamburgers. Raw veggies. Might make one of the new Betty Crocker mixes I have. I don't personally eat dessert so I don't care if we have it or not.
  5. Central Market in Mill Creek WA has them. Didn't take note of the price.
  6. We can't have soy either. I do buy a beef based faux parmesan that is okay on pasta. Don't think it would work in this recipe though.
  7. I used to have very vivid dreams. Then they disappeared. I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Not sure if this is the cause or not. Some people say it is. Now I am dreaming again.
  8. I would never use a product with that in the ingredients!
  9. Yeah but we can't have dairy or egg.
  10. Are the penguins made with black olives and carrots? If so, I made them for my daughter's birthday party one year and they were a big hit!
  11. I've made a pasta salad that is really good. I don't have an exact recipe because we modified one out of my daughter's cookbook. We just put in what we like. Basically you need some pasta in somewhat large shapes. We use a tricolored quinoa pasta. I cook it until just done, then plunge it in cold water, changing the water a few times to cool it. ...
  12. There are all kinds of pasta out there. Not only rice, but corn, quinoa and even bean or potato. Our favorites are the first three. You can buy shelf stable polenta already made up. It's usually on the pasta aisle, but sometimes in the refrigerated section. You can slice it and fry it or put it in a casserole, top it with tomato sauce and cheese and...
  13. I've never been to Italy, but I've been told that fish and other seafood are popular there. Can you have polenta? Of course there is a chance they would put cheese and/or butter in it. Is there risotto where you are at? I'm thinking not. Again, there might be butter or cheese in it. My husband's family is Italian and they make a dish pretty much daily...
  14. There is no rice that is low in carbs. Low carb foods are plain meats, fish, cheese, nuts and non starchy vegetables.
  15. Oh. Okay.
  16. Hmmm... I wonder why my daughter didn't like it then? It didn't seem to get crisp. That's the only thing. I didn't eat it. I don't like fried chicken.
  17. Doesn't it have mono and diglycerides? I thought that was either soy or wheat. I guess I could be wrong.
  18. Perhaps the seasoning I used was the problem. The recipe called for seasoned salt and I don't use that.
  19. We're allergic to almonds as well, and for some reason, also Potato Buds. I think they have soy in them, but can't remember. Do you think this would work with organic potato flakes and rice milk?
  20. That seasoning is not available here, I don't think, and daughter would never eat hot sauce. But thanks!
  21. Hmmm... Never heard of that one! But daughter and husband don't like BBQ sauce so that wouldn't work.
  22. Daughter found some gluten-free cornflake crumbs at the store the other day and picked out chicken drumsticks to have for dinner tonight. I found a recipe online but it called for melted butter and we can't have dairy or eggs. So I used olive oil instead. Dipped the chicken pieces in the oil, then the crumbs. Laid in a pan lined with foil and sprinkled...
  23. I found these today at the Albertsons in Mill Creek (Bothell/Everett Highway). They seemed to have only the chocolate and yellow cake mixes and the cookies. We bought the yellow cake mix. Only problem for us is that we can't have eggs and dairy. I can't find any kind of margarine that doesn't have dairy in it, except for the liquid or soft kinds that...
  24. To be on a truly sugar free diet, one must not consume any form of carbs whatever, because carbs convert to sugar in the diet. That means no grains, no fruits, no vegetables. Even nuts contain some carbs. That leaves meats and fats. Hardly doable for any length of time. It could be that what the Dr. means is not to eat anything with what we know as...
