  2. The Old Spaghetti Factory has a gluten-free menu. At least the one in Lynnwood does. You'd have to check the location you want. PF Chang's has a gluten-free menu. Emory's on Silver Lake (Everett) has a gluten-free menu. Open Original Shared Link
  3. I thought Trix had been gluten-free for some time now? We have been buying it.
  4. Icing is the name of the bakery. Open Original Shared Link I have ordered twice from them. Alas they changed their recipe for the blueberry muffins. Those (and maybe some other things) now contain eggs. So if you have additional allergies, you need to check the ingredients.
  5. I've never had weevils in anything.
  6. I love some vegetables and hate others. When it comes to the ones I hate, there's not a thing you could do to them to make them taste good to me. In fact if there is so much as a speck of them in my food, I can't eat it. I am a super taster as well. I am not a big fan of mushrooms. It's mostly the texture there that gets me. I buy the dried ones at...
  7. Are you sure the rice syrup is made with barley? I think it all used to be, but now there are some that are gluten free.
  8. I had these in my freezer. We just tried them tonight. Very good! No dairy, soy or eggs in them either. Also got the banana bread. Daughter loved that. We have yet to try the cinnamon bread. I buy the chocolate cupcakes for daughter to take to parties and such. She prefers the vanilla but they are only mini muffins so harder to transport. I also...
  9. I've stopped eating lunch. That really seems to help. Now I just have a small snack in the afternoon to keep my blood sugar stable.
  10. I don't know of a single place where you can pick whatever you want off the menu. We did used to have a gluten-free restaurant here, but it wasn't good. Oh the food tasted good. It's just that the service was bad and slow and the owner was nutty. We do not eat at McDonalds because they have lied to us too many times about what is in their food. At...
  11. I am not in the UK so not really familiar with the foods you can get there. Do you have a crockpot? If not, can you get one? You can put the food in there in the morning and it will be ready by the time you get home from work. You can easily make stew with some cubed beef or ground beef (I think you call it mince), cubes of lamb or chicken cut up...
  12. I don't have an actual recipe. I use gluten-free oatmeal. I whiz it up in my blender then mix with chopped vegetables and some tomato juice or V8 juice. I then add this to my meat and season it with Italian seasoning.
  13. I could swear I just answered this question last night! Anyway... What kind of store is this? I have heard that Walmart puts a solution in their meat but our Walmarts here don't have a grocery. Try shopping somewhere else. You don't want that crap in your meat. Also, look for organic meat.
  14. I have used a packaged kind. It was very good.
  15. I use Ancient Harvest Quinoa pasta. Works very well. I cook it until just done then cool it quickly in some cold water. I then add the dressing and vegetables right away.
  16. I too rinse and pick through my beans before using. I have found rocks in there. Not for many years though. I think they are doing a better job of cleaning these days. Mostly I use canned beans these days because I'm not home to cook the dried ones. I believe I saw a post from someone who said she found a wheat kernel in her beans. Not sure if that...
  17. We have bought a few things of this brand. Can't remember now what they were. No problems with them, but then daughter is not celiac and has allergies, so her reactions are not necessarily the same.
  18. Where are you shopping? I have heard that Walmart injects their meat with some sort of solution. We don't have a Walmart with a grocery here so I wouldn't know. I've also heard tell that some of the other grocery stores around here inject their meat with something. I generally buy organic meat so it has nothing added.
  19. Goraw pumpkin seed bars! 24 grams of carb per bar. I am diabetic and they work for me. They do make other flavors but I didn't care for them. Another thing she might consider doing is making up her own trail mix using seeds and just a small amount of dried fruit mixed in for some carbs but not too many. Or just some lower carb fruit. I currently...
  20. We love Schar. Expensive and fragile but oh so good!
  21. I looked at Central Market in Mill Creek, WA and they didn't have them. Not sure that was the best place to look. They carry a lot of gluten-free stuff already and tend to have more organic stuff.
  22. Okay, thanks. Pork and beans are not something I buy too often. I have diabetes and they are pretty high in carbs for me. Mainly I just buy plain canned or dried beans. I do think I had some little cans of pork and beans (thought they might have been Campbell's but maybe not) that daughter didn't react to. But she is no longer allergic to gluten. Just...
  23. Campbell's appear to be gluten-free. Does anyone know for sure?
  24. Not so much a recipe because I use prepared sauce, but... A pound or so of ground beef browned, then I add a handful of Just Onions and Just Bell Peppers, a jar of pasta sauce (usually Amy's) along with a small can of plain tomato sauce and some Italian seasoning. Then mix in a package of cooked rice or corn pasta. If I want to stretch this out further...
