  1. Agreed on the allergy friendly thing.
  2. Many years ago, I got these sandwiches at Denny's and loved them. I decided to make my own version tonight because I had some turkey and bacon about to expire and a couple of Ener-G hamburger buns that were about to go bad. Husband and I had ours on regular hamburger buns that were a tad stale. Hehehe. Anyway... I warmed up the gluten-free bun, put...
  3. I have found gluten-free cereals there and bought a lot. Also found some gluten-free tamales. Daughter loved them but husband did not. And they're great for canned fruit and veg.
  4. Malt flavoring usually contains gluten. If your corn flakes say that the malt flavoring is derived from corn, then it is fine. Otherwise, no. There are some gluten-free corn flakes, but I don't remember the brand. They might not be available at your grocery store though. I got them at Big Lots some time ago. The other foods should be fine unless you...
  5. Wow! I wonder if they have any at the Big Lots here?
  6. Make sure you get the Vegan kind. The other kind has casein. The Vegan kind doesn't come in Mozzarella. We use the cheddar on pizza. Another option is the shredded cheese here: Open Original Shared Link To me it tastes just like the real thing. The only problem I have with it, is that it is high in fat. I have gastroparesis and I don't seem...
  7. It's a brand of plain, unflavored gelatin.
  8. We tried millet. Nobody liked it at all. I have some Kasha. Never tried Amaranth. Nobody here much likes hot cereal. I have some that she won when she won that gluten-free food basket, but I'm not sure what's in it.
  9. We do have additional food allergies. So our diet has to be more strict. In the beginning, I gave away or threw away all food that contained allergens. Bought a little fridge for daughter's special food (after first trying one shelf in the big fridge and labeling everything) and made a part of the dining room just for her food. We ate only allergen...
  10. She hasn't complained in the past 5 days aside from tonight when we went out to eat. We let her choose the restaurant, but being Valentine's day, they were busier than I'd thought they would be. And we went early! I'd already shot my insulin (mistake) so we had to eat quickly. We had to go to the one nearby restaurant where we thought we could get...
  11. The way I was raised, bread was considered an unneccesary food and my mom sort of regarded it as poison. We did get occasional sandwiches for road trips and very occasionially there would be toast or cinnamon toast for breakfast. But we never had bread with meals. We did have some awful brown and serve rolls at holiday meals or on the rare occasion when...
  12. That's too bad. I learned a long time ago, kids won't eat anything I make because they assume it is something "special" and will be weird in some way. We just get Skittles or Nerds. Most kids seem to like them and they are normal.
  13. She doesn't refuse to take a swallowable. She doesn't like to take them. She would refuse any sort of chewable though. I could get her to take the gummy vites sometimes, but not always. And they don't really contain very much in terms of vitamins. The problem is I just keep forgetting to give them to her and she never reminds me. I would never offer...
  14. That's one thing she will eat. I tend to eat the same thing day after day until I get sick of it and then move on to something else. Now it is Ian's chicken nuggets for lunch.
  15. I would never put something I made into a container of something else. That's just wrong! I'm pretty sure she would not like a yogurt I made. She likes something she can just grab and put in her lunch and likes that it has an expiration date on it. She's big into expiration dates. If it is something I've made in a large quantity, she is always worried...
  16. Thanks! At least I know there is light at the end of the tunnel.
  17. She's 10 now and thinks I'm being mean when I ask her to help. She would do it when she was younger. But not now.
  18. Tonight's meal was hot dogs on Ener-G Tapioca buns and canned green beans. She liked it. I will make it again next week.
  19. As for the coconut yogurt, I would have no clue how to make it and I doubt she would eat it if I did. She has this fascination with individually packaged things. Anything that comes packaged single serve is of great interest to her. She will even try things she formerly said she didn't like if I can get them in a little package. So much of what she does...
  20. She gets a smoothie once a week from Jamba Juice and we used to make them with rice milk, strawberries and sorbet but she got sick of them. She likes milkshakes from certain restaurants but can't have them often. She would not want anything I made for my husband. Nothing at all. They don't get along. As for the pumpkin, she hates it in any form. I...

    ARCHIVED Candida

Diflucan made me very ill. Try Candex. It knocked out my last yeast infection.
  22. I used Burt's Bees on my daughter, but... I found out she wasn't rinsing her hair well enough. A lot of what I thought was dandruff was dried shampoo! What we did for a while was to have her mix some baking powder through her hair prior to washing, to soak up the excess oil. Then shampoo for a full 60 seconds and rinse really well. If this doesn't...
  23. That's a good idea! Last night she said the Spanish Rice was disgusting before she even tried it. I must say I got some new Mexican Hot chili powder and I did use that once and the dish was too hot for either of us. So maybe she was afraid it would be like that again. I used the regular chili powder last night and only a tiny amount so it wasn't too hot...
  24. She said nothing helps and hopefully she'll outgrow it in a year. We've determined that her new word is "disgusting". Pretty much everything is disgusting.
  25. I don't personally feel the need to fit in or have my food look like everyone else's. I always wanted to be differerent. But apparently it is important for her. In past years, I tried to send in a sandwich no more than once or twice a week because the bread was so expensive. But this year all the wanted was sandwiches. So I ordered lots of bread and...
